flatwounds and rock...do they mix?

"why does your bass sound like a guitar?"
I'm on the complete opposite end of this, I LIKE sounding like a really low guitar. :hiding:
I find that smooth thuddy tone to be rather plain/boring sounding, not bad, but just not for me.

But flats can do rock music no problem, it depends on the bassist, the band, and the genre. Whether they work best is another question altogether.

Of course they mix :)

If that's the sound you're after :)

Oh, forgot: I like my attack to be up front, so that I accentuate the drums, and I can't get that with flats, so I wouldn't use them, but they sound awesome on my buddys JB in his Stoner rock band :)
