FLIPTOPS.NET - Devastating Fire, out of business

On 12.21.2024 Bruce the owner of Fliptops.net (supplier of vintage Ampeg amp parts - a friend of Talkbass) had a fire and is 100% out of business. That is sad news. Bruce was a very decent and nice guy to deal with.

On a personal note, I just bought a 1965 B15 from Guitar Center Used Gear ONLINE. They shipped it as working, but in fact it has a blown transformer and needs about $600 worth of work to make it operable. I was hoping Bruce would be able to provide the parts to repair it. It looks like Guitar Center is going to have to take it back.

Have purchased from them multiple times and was just considering ordering a sealed 4x10 from them to match my newly acquired V4B. I can’t believe it. For an old Ampeg guy, this is the coolest store ever.

Horrible news. Fliptops provided an extremely valuable service for those of us desiring to repair, upgrade etc our vintage Ampegs. This is truly a bummer.

Their transformers are made by Heyoer in the US. You could order one from them if you explain that Fliptops is out of business. Also, Mercury Magnetics sells one, they will pot it if you send your original can.
