Perhaps it's time for a sister website called "PicBass" ?
Sorry, you are WAY off base here. Having customers that are WAY behind the promised date, and then taking weeks and weeks to build a 'vanity bass'... you've got to be kidding.
This is an example of the ridiculous decisions made by that shop that hopefully 'Just Thumpin' will eliminate.
Read what you just posted, and then consider how the dozens and dozens of guys who were promised a bass YEARS ago, and have THOUSANDS of dollars paid to either Fodera directly or retailers feel when they see a bass that 'Vinnie wanted to build for himself' show up
My god. To me, it is literally disgusting. In my business, if I had ONE unhappy customer, the LAST thing I would be doing is 'celebrating'. Something is REALLY not right at that shop. I'm hoping Just Thumpin' has the balls to fix it, since the product is, for the most part, very good.

That was kind of my initial point.
There are just too many companies out there whose basses are at least just as good but have reasonable wait times and reliable estimates for a company to run this way and stay healthy.

Thanks so much. I know that we have spoken on several occasions and your situation is one of the more frustrating ones. Just to explain, when an individual customer had more than one bass on order, even if they had been ordered at the same time, we tried to separate the two by 6-8 months in the production schedule. This would allow us to get at least one bass to everyone in line a bit sooner (believe it or not, there are many people with more than one on order).
The good news here is that your Imperial Elite is going to be killer and REALLY LIGHTWEIGHT!!!

If I was a paying customer with money on the table and my build time has been delayed by years I certainly wouldn't be very happy. Fortunately for me I'm not in that position.
I am a potential customer with money in my pocket though and for me prior to Just Thumpin's involvement there is absolutely no way I'm writing a check with a 3 year wait and possibly a year or more of delays.
Regardless of the fact that they are commemorating the 3000th bass there allot of things I'd want to see changed before I'd be willing to write a check and these initial comments from Just Thumpin' seems that it could put them on the right path to earn my business.
I am pretty sure most people that have placed an order and have done their homework realize that these delays are probable and for their own reasons decided it is in their interest to place an order in any case.
It's my opinion that I'd not be willing to wait 3.5 years to have a bass built and possibly that that date could be delayed by years. For that reason I do not own a Fodera bass and am perfectly content with my decision. With that being said there are probably a lot of guys that have similar feelings and if the tide can turn and the production time and lines of communication improve it might increase demand even more...

Yes, simply awful. They've lambasted a cabinet builder on another thread for a year long wait, but will happily wait as in instrument is 2 1/2 YEARS late...that's right up there with Bebensee, AFAIK. And for the prices they charge, they SHOULD be punctual. They may be 'artistic', but come on now, get a grip; just because some of the better New York players play them doesn't mean you can get away with murder...

The ones I played were OK, nothing earth shattering, about as good as a Smith, Pedulla, etc. The Anthony Jackson Contra is quite a machine, and they do build some lovely stuff, but they should stop taking people's money till they get on top of their build schedule. That's simply awful.
An MTD is another story....there's nothing like those basses.
Yeah, not good. I certainly hope they can turn this around.
Bass #3,000 has not done a lot for their PR, I'm afraid.

Again, we need to give kudo's to them for realizing something was pretty far from kosher, and bringing in some 'business help' to make things right.
Of course, it will take a year or so for Just Thumpin' to dig out of what seems a mess, but I suspect this time next year, they will be closer to the service, quality, etc. that you would expect for the price.

I'm trying to be nice after all the hammering. I agree, if you look at it with a cold hard eye, it's a bit 'a little too little a little too late', but let's see what Just Thumpin' can do
The discussion here makes me sad. Seems like the guys at Fodera bit off a bit more than they could chew more than once.

I agree with you, and decided that the post you are refering to was unnecessary so i deleted it.
(My cynical self does however think sometimes that the "fodera magic" that some people see, seems almost dependant on their inability to deliver on time.).
I totally agree here.
But, one thing is important here. The looooonnnngg wait to get a bass play for and against them. Against because many players won't want to wait all this time and for because publicity is publicity. It's also like the bars who keeps the line up outside, we're like: "Man they are so many people wanting to go there, the lineup goes outside! It gotta be a great place" Here, with Fodera, the long wait makes us wonder that many many many people want them and are ready to wait that long so they GOTTA BE THAT GOOD.

And to help with the 'topic reset', here is me a while ago with my Emperor Elite 5. From what I was told, it was the first (or at least the first 'production' model) with wooden pickup covers. It was heavy, but it sounded great. To this day, I've never seen another piece of flame maple like this.
Dig the Walter Woods and Tera Lab cable... god help me, I was deep into the boutique at that time!

Thanks, this arrived this morning. I started a custom order recently (not a Fodera), and I figured in the meantime... what the hay, let's get back into the club.
Ken, great looking bass you used to have. By the looks of it, you must be quite short
It's a goofy picture. I'm 5'10". However, I'm a bit of a skinny minny, and that bass always looked HUGE on me! It really did weigh a ton, and I just couldn't take it any more. But, it sounded great... very bright and grindy and 'quick' sounding versus many Fodera's that I've played that were more on the 'fat warm' side of things.
