A bass ordered today would be given a build slot in August 2011 and shipped in October 2011 -- in a nutshell, 2 years.
HOWEVER, this is a real number based on a serious schedule that includes every bass presently on order. The schedule we are using DOES NOT include any increase in production as a result of:
1. Vinny and Joey now being able to devote 90% of their time to building (rather than 50% to building and the rest to running the business);
2. An additional hire or two we plan to make in the back of the shop that will allow Joey, Vinny and Vadym to focus more on the things only they can and should be doing.
We didn't include any of that upside in speeding things along because they haven't happened yet, but hopefully they will ease things out quite a bit.
Again, as stated in an earlier post, eventually we would like to see the wait down to under 18 months (ideally at around 12 months).
Finally, most of the horror stories about 3 and 4 year waits were due more to scheduling mistakes and just plain bad scheduling decisions than there really being a 3+ year backlog...

Please believe me when I tell you that they are as disappointed and frustrated with the way things were as all of you were / are. That is why they decided to make a very significant change...

This is great! I've been considering buying a new Fodera but heard the horror stories
about the wait. Glad to see things are getting organized at the Fodera shop. I can now
start to get my hopes up again for my own Fodera. That's for all the info JT!

Just Thumpin', I hope everything works out as planned. Fodera wasn't really on my radar, but if things go smoothly over the next year or so, I may have to consider picking one up.......

Great news about the clearer time slots. Is there a way to get a sort of a price list? I have owned 6 Foderas, and I have never been able to figure out the pricing. I realize certain variables are difficult to estimate up front, but some ballpark figure/payment schedule would be really helpful.

I have attached a PDF version of our current price list. Please keep in mind that these prices have not changed in two years and have yet to be revisited in the context of my Team's managerial involvement. We expect to be revisiting the overall price list in the coming two months. We will, of course, honor the existing price list until it has been updated.
Also, thanks to the several kind posts that preceded this one. Hopefully we can welcome a lot more people to the Fodera Family as we become more user friendly...

Great, Jason is a top notch guy, and I know that Fodera will gain from this partnership.
I will come to ny in 2010, so I really want to come to see you and the fodera crew (maybe I'll bring one of my fodera with me!!).
maybe it's time to think about ordering another one lol.
I really hope and I'm confident that Fodera instruments are going to be at another level of perfection after that.

$175 for a detuner? Does Fodera make their own now instead of using Hipshots?
Wow....incredible....I know how much most of these woods cost....there's no way I'm going to pay that much money, ever, for a premium top. I don't care who makes the bass. That's highway robbery....and seriously??? $250 for an ebony ramp??? How is it $175-$200 more than every ramp I've ever had made?.....Fodera may be better served by raising the base price and lowering some of the option prices. It just looks more appropriate to the customer.
$1,000 to $1,500 for a solid top also... I guess they grow their own old trees also
Hey, Fodera has always been 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it'. I'm one who thinks their price/quality is WAY out of line (even if their service does get better), but there are a lot of guys who take the plunge!
Nice $4,500 basses though. Unfortunately, they cost $8,000! Hey, if it is worth it, it's worth it to the buyer.
