Fodera Club Part III

Man, I SO need to do another record. I'm hoping by the end of February to be out from under all of the behind-the-eightball-ness so I can actually focus on it. I feel like I'm playing as well or better than I ever have, but I don't have a THING documenting it. One thing is for sure, the R&D is going to stop for a little while until the record is done. The MPP's are totally refined at this point, as is the Fodera preamp, so there's little left to do but organize. Something I'm GREAT at!! ....yeah right....

very cool to hear Mike. although over-the-top-busy get to be a pain and strain on family and life in general, it's great to see things going great for ya!!

Got this from David Beasley, he says it's the first Beaz Elite. A great player and a real beauty, love the matching back. 36" but really doesn't feel much different than a 35"...

Nice~

I never thought I'd ever see this one go up for sale..ever.

Did he mention why he was selling it?

It IS the first Beez Elite (now called an Imperial II)...

Enjoy it - it's a smoking bass. I played that bass many times and it was always rewarding.

so should I be expecting a cheque in the mail for doing an interview in bass player magazine...... interesting

FYI I didn't do any interviews for BP in 2009..... and i have never been paid for, and very much doubt I ever will get paid for an interview in my life.....

I'm not sure too many people get paid for free international press...... that's kind of the point of doing interviews and press isn't it? you show up, talk about whatever they want to talk about, then it gets printed and distributed around the world.... no?

Janek is a very nice person and spend a lot of his time to mail and talk with people who wanna know more about his playing, gear etc. Watching those bassplayer 09 videos with him you can tell he a very cool person and knows the music world very well. I have very much respect for Janek. What he already have done with music in the age of what? 30 or something! Janek is workhard bassplayer!

I guess he mean that those Fodera basses are really special and you take care of them a lot. I think it's very funny quote...

+1 on Janek being a nice guy and a true scholar of the bass.

Hey Janek, you still planning on being at the booth some this year? We should play again. Last year was a ball. I built a headphone distribution system this year. 3 guys plus a stereo source (like haynes) can play through amps and into the system, then everyone gets their own phones with their own mix. There's another mix that goes to PA speakers and a 16 channel headphone distribution system for some of the listeners. So we'll actually be able to hear ourselves and not worry about the dB cops. I'm looking forward to that hopefully happening.

And for the record, basses are most definitely NOT more expensive than kids. Not to mention that you'll never have to change a diaper full of sawdust :)
