It's good to see there are some basses with the new Fodera pickups. I hope those work out for you guys.

When are we going to see Pope's new bass????

1) I am happy that Fodera have their own pickups.......
Let's see their differences between Seymour Duncan Custom and Aero Custom to Fodera's.....

2) Yeah, I wanna see the new Pope's Fodera too.......

Good show...Fodera..............

I really wish I could attend the show......:hyper:

Please take more pics and video, follows....

Cheers,
Man-Ho :o

If I remember correctly, the new bass is supposed to be built in May. Jason, you might want to confirm that when you have the spreadsheet.....the very, very spread out spredsheet full of basses to be built....in front of you.

Right after NAMM I'm getting on the moving bridge PU thing.

Looking forward to seeing it Mike....if anyone deserves a signature bass by now it's you. Good luck at NAMM....oh, and sounds like you may be seeing my good friend Brian Ristola (I've known him for years and my bass was made by him).

I believe that the build start date is May/June (going off the top of my head as I am not in the office yet). The big question with this bass, since it is a completely new shape with a couple of new features, is how long will it take to complete? I imagine it will be done in the summer...

Have you got a mock up of it you might post here?
Would be rather interesting to see a new shape.

My birthday is coming (february 25th), I think I'm going to get an emperor 5 deluxe, I know I said that I would not buy another bass, but I fell in love with this one.
Pics when I'll get the bass (I think next week).
so my fodera family is going to get bigger !!!

The shape is just an actual size drawing on a big piece of white paper. Vinny hasn't even made a template for it yet.

Honestly, though, even if there was a template of it, I'm not sure I want to see it before it's actually done. Kind of like not knowing the gender of your kid :-) I kind of don't want to blow the impact of seeing it finished for the first time. That's always been a thing for me.

Although it would still be interesting to see even the drawing, I see what you mean. :)

I think what might help ease the pain of waiting is some more YouTube clips of the Pontif playing!!!! :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

:D:D:D

(not enough MP content on there) :smug:

Man, I SO need to do another record. I'm hoping by the end of February to be out from under all of the behind-the-eightball-ness so I can actually focus on it. I feel like I'm playing as well or better than I ever have, but I don't have a THING documenting it. One thing is for sure, the R&D is going to stop for a little while until the record is done. The MPP's are totally refined at this point, as is the Fodera preamp, so there's little left to do but organize. Something I'm GREAT at!! ....yeah right....

Congrats! Specs?

Fodera Emperor 5 Deluxe, 35” scale, walnut body/ quilt maple top, maple neck/ Birdseye maple fingerboard, Duncan JJ pickups, Mike Pope preamp, gold hardware, 9.01 pounds, deluxe Fodera hardshell case

a friend o mine bought this bass from austin bass traders, and to me it's one of the nicest I've ever seen.

it's the bass on the picture that my friend will sell me.

Got this from David Beasley, he says it's the first Beaz Elite. A great player and a real beauty, love the matching back. 36" but really doesn't feel much different than a 35"...
