Fodera Club Part IX

Nope, they didn't ask me about any changes. I trust them, but I am curious for the story.

I hope! I'm doing some tracking on Friday for some other people this week for some rent money, so hopefully they'll let me steal a clip. :)

Otherwise it'll have to wait until my new computer arrives next week or so.

Is there a difference between a Monarch and YinYang body shape/size? It looks to me like they are slightly different but I'm wondering if it is just the coloration.

This YYS is totally ruining me. I don't want to pick up my Fender, which actually is a great instrument. I still gladly play my Rob Allens but those are their own unique thing. Back to 'shedding...

Angus, another incredible Fodera you got there!! SImply dig the 33" and narrow spacing thing! exactly like mine, just cant wait for my 6 string that come in around late Nov.

Did you order the 33" 6 string with standard headstock? Since the gangs told me it is not preferable on having a low B on a 33" instrument without extended B headstock..

Amazing bass!! :bassist:

While I respect their experience I can tell you that the low B on my own 33" scale six is deadly....no funny headstock needed.

Not in my possession yet, but she's landed on the website. Holy crap. It looks insane!!!

I thought the cutaway would be a bit deeper, but I don't care. I'm psyched to do some recording!! :hyper:

I can't wait to hear how it sounds!!!

(Thanks for whoever loaded those, Jason! It looks like it's going to be an incredible instrument. :D)

I'm curious what the guys thought of it- it has to be one of the stranger combos they've ever made. I'd guess it isn't up Joey's alley!

Awesome bass! Looks great

Nostatic, the YY basses are Monarch bodies.

Thanks! They did an incredible job with the instrument.

My experience is no different than emjazz's. I did order it with the standard headstock- I am of the strongest of opinions that the headstock doesn't affect the B enough (if at all) for me to want to have to deal with silly stringing and tuning procedures, so standard headstock for me. I've strung my 33" 5 string with a B and it was great. As good as my 35" Modulus was? No, but still very good. I have no doubt the Monarch will be the same, if not better.

Great looking bass, Angus. I kind of thought they would make it similar to the 5 string monarch with the really deep treble side cutway. They could have set the neck deeper into the body, placing the bridge closer to normal position and then deepend the cutaway. Either way, I'm sure that is a killer bass. Congrats!
