Very cool man. It has the original JJ EMG's and the pre-amp was
replaced with another original one by Joey about 7 years ago.
I have a handful of appts and such walking around the floor, but I'm going to make sure to stop by the Fodera booth periodically during the NAMM Show, so I'll make sure to snap some pix for y'all.
Shawn and Nick from Epifani told me that they aren't going to be right next to Fodera this show, they are going to be near where the Rivera booth is usually.
Yes pics please... i am bummed i can't go this year.. i had planned on checking out the new Epi stuff while there but of course I'll miss that as well..

Glad I got a new Nikon D90 for Christmas, I guess I have my photographic work cut out for me this NAMM show.
I hope that Matthew Garrison is going to be there, it is always inspiring to see him play at the booth... Along with the other killer monsters of Fodera (Janek, Mike Pope...etc.).

Jai: See if you can get us any photos of Mike's new sliding pick-up mechanism ( assuming it's OK to do so ). Sounds very interesting. Leave it up to Mike to come up with something ingenious.

There will be a whole bunch of photos on our website next Saturday (the day Mike's bass...to be called the Fodera Viceroy...is officially released).
On another note, there will be another new Fodera instrument released on Thursday at the NAMM Show...a new website section and photos of this instrument will be up on the site next Thursday...
So, last year we released the NYC 4 string and this year we will be releasing the Viceroy and one other very special instrument...
The sliding pick-up tray is very interesting and we are all interested to see it in action. Collaborating with Mike is a wonderful thing!

I'm thinking it has to be a link to the Viceroy butterfly. We have the Monarch which is a Fodera classic. BTW, Jason's personal favorite.
The Fodera headstock features the lovely inlaid butterfly. Unless I'm missing something between the lines, that's my guess.

All of the names...Emperor, Imperial, Monarch (and now Viceroy) are butterflies AND have something to do with being regal / powerful...
I am not sure how much of the name was Pope and how much was Vinny...they spoke about it together and Joey and I both loved it.

So, will the Viceroy feature a Koa body or is it going to be the customer's choice?
If its just Koa, how will the weight issue be dealt with? Chambering? What would the bass come in at? 11+ lbs?

I love the tone of Koa but the basses I've played were all beasts.

Well, with good tone appropriate Koa becoming more difficult to source, it makes sense to go with a readily available wood such as Mahogany. That will take care of the weight issue too.
