i think i remember the bass in you avatar from my days hanging out with the boys in their first location in brooklyn. Wood butterflies were the early ones.

Yea man... that is exactly when it was from. I was teaching bass at a place called Focus II guitar center and wanted to get the owners to carry a high end line of basses. I contacted Vinnie and Joey and they brought out two to the store.. I bought the 4 string monarch on the spot, which is number #11.

PS.. it is pictured in the early Fodera brochure which was in the last thread

I'm so insanely busy it shouldn't matter (I only post during dead time when I'm stuck somewhere between classes/meeting/work), but it's going to be the worst couple weeks I've had a long time...just because of the wait.

Oh I don't even know if I mentioned it there or not. I asked them to do a single piece ramp from neck to bridge, but right before they started building, they decided they didn't want to do it, so it's like 4 or 5 pieces. I hope it comes out as feeling like one solid piece with uniform radius and size. I'm sure they won't disappoint as I was pretty clear about it, so I'm just excited to see how it comes out.

I don't think there is anything particularly weird or unusual though, no.

Sounds cool- M-Basses did a fretless that had a ramp running most of the way between the neck and the bridge before hitting a radiused pickup. Are you going piezos-only? Also, is the ramp going to rise in height as it gets towards the bridge?

The pickups are in radiused wooden covers, so they'll match the solid ramp pieces. It could be one radius and dimension the whole way. And yeah, you could set it up to rise toward the bridge, but if its in 4 pieces its a bit more complicated (hence why I preferred a single piece overall).
