I think you'll like it. I went there for medical school a while back ('92-'96) and really loved it; some of the best years of my life. Is this small apartment you're referring to in Harkness Hall? There's a lot of affordable housing in the area, so I suspect you'll soon have all of your basses with you...
Angus-Don't know how you feel about this but wall hangers work really well. You wouldn't have to worry about taking up floor space or closet space.

I think the Arcadia Ballroom has been gone for a long, long time. All the references I looked up said that it closed years ago, unfortunately!
You don't see many monarch 6 strings. I really want a bolt on version of this bass. It will be a long long time before could ever consider ordering another fodera though. Plus I love my empII, so I'm relatively gas free.

Janek's bass?

I'm a little confused about Janek's Bass...didn't he first say that it's going to be a 6 string or 5 str. fretless to match to his actual 5 str. ?
now he has another new 5 str. ? what happens with the old one ?or this one is strunged B-G ?
smart moves on their part. The airlines are pretty scary. Hmmmmmm.. an exact copy of number 11... That would be a fun project.. I better start saving my lunch money..Later on today I will be posting more information in the Newborn section, but yes the Monarch 6 IS Oteil's and the Garrison Imperial 5 IS Janek's. Both players wanted EXACT replicas of their current Foderas...Janek's is (obviously) just completed and Oteil's original came back to the shop to be measured yesterday because we will be building his early this summer.
The only change to Janek's bass was that he went with Buckeye (rather than Plastic) PUP covers...every other wood and measurement is identical when compared to the original.
Oteil's design criteria...make an EXACT copy.
During the course of less than 10 months we will have done this for Richard Bona, Oteil and Janek...pretty cool. Reason being that they all tour extensively and want to be certain that if their Fodera ever got lost or stolen they would have a back up...each of them has (unfortunately) been waiting well over three years for this to happen...it is another of the "improving Fodera" things that we are happy to be getting off of the "To-Do List." LOL.
The buckeye on Janek's bass is phenomenal. A work of art! Looking forward to the Newborn description that Just Thumpin' mentioned.
I know there will at least be one in August!![]()
