It certainly doesn't hurt the NYC line that Victor is out playing NYCs in concerts, I'm sure. It sure makes me more willing to give them another look.

Does anyone know the story behind the blue quilted one? This is obviously a very recent clip (May 31, 2011).

Is this bass a lined fretless? Or is it fretted? It sounds fretless when he plays low under the band, but when Vic goes high and slows, it sounds fretted.

Then again, trying to hear bass in the teeny speakers of a Macbook Air is like trying to gaze at the grand canyon through a pin hole in a cardboard box, so who knows what it is I'm straining to hear on this thing.

I used to own the white one(newer) and now own the black one(older). It's really splittin' hairs but I like the black one a touch better. This is my 3rd NYC and they have all been fantastic.

Re: Feraud playing other axes besides his namesake Smith - there's all sorts of agreements between artists and manufacturers, none of which we're really privy to. Some agreements (if there even are any) might require exclusive appearances in public with a particular instruments, others may not. There's no across-the-board standard.

Many artists exclusively play their signature instruments. AJ, Nathan East, and Billy Sheehan immediately come to mind. On the other side of the coin, Richard Bona has a few sig models by different builders, and Mark King has three or four sig models all from different builders. Darryl Jones didn't play his own namesake Lakland onstage an awful lot. So, being honored with signature model doesn't always mean an artist is locked into playing it all the time in public.

To be honest, what bass he plays does not interest me much, but I do see your point and may just have read something into your post that just wasn't there-Sorry!
You are right in that I did not follow the thread you mention.:)

Nah Man, it's cool. Other than getting REALLY tired of hearing myself talk, it's a pretty straightforward representation of who we are. Thanks to Donovan for taking it...I had NO IDEA they were shooting that much...glad I didn't say anything too moronic! I hope you all enjoyed it. Tomorrow should be fun in the steam bath...it's gonna be 90 degrees here in NY...yes Donovan, we wish we had A/C too!!

Hey Jason or anyone who knows, quick question is Fodera bridge spacing from string edge to adjacent string edge, or is it from center of string to center of adjacent string? Sorry if you've already had to answer this before :)
