Hi all,
I am going to go ahead and sell my YYS. I had to pay taxes! More than that I may take the money and put down on some new Fodera I have been looking at for awhile and this will be the a down paymeny later. Thanks, and good luck if you have been looking for a perfect one, barely played for less than a new price! Keep Thumping!!

Emperor Standard sighting last night on Saturday Night Live. Gotye's bass player played one on the second song. I couldn't hear that well but he did play one run that ended on the B that sounded pretty good.

Kennedy sounded amazing on the E5S! The bass had a very tight and focused bottom end. Very defined and articulate. It just sat perfectly in the mix, and had plenty of cut. The opening band's bass player had an alembic, and while it sounded good it was a lot less defined in the low end than Kennedy's E5S. Some of that is technique too though. The E5S is gorgeous too. I have to say that the newborn pics look good, but do not fully give justice to just how beautiful they are.
I talked to Kennedy after the show and asked him about the bass. He said that he had been looking for a bolt on so he could take off the neck when he flys and be able to fit it in the overhead. I guess that was about the same time that Fodera was about to start building the E5S prototypes... Anyway, he seems really happy with it.
Edit: he also said when he gets the neck back on the bass after a flight that he doesn't really have to adjust the truss rod much, if at all....
He let me get a shot with him and the bass...

It is dead stock except for two modifications:
1. Covers with no holes (he prefers them);
2. Machine screws (with corresponding inserts in the body) to secure the neck so that it can be removed many times without ever stripping.
The NYC is also stock except for having a 4-band Fodera / Pope Standard Preamp in it and a set of Delano hum-cancelling pups in it...

I thought that might have been one. Too bad it wasn't up louder in the mix.
Usually I don't see bassists in those genres with Fodera and other boutique basses- I thought they all just were using P's now.
I preferred the second tune to the first.
Last week on the Voice, the bass player for Gym Class Heroes
was playing what looked like an NYC5. It worked really well for the song they played.

I am so very, very excited to pick up my E5S in June. It's great to see the buzz and excitement slowly building. These will be, IMO, very sought-after basses.
I'm also realizing how great my Pao Ferro-boarded Fender Jazz sounds, after using it at a jazz gig yesterday. We did Body and Soul as a funk/R&B tune, and it absolutely killed - warm lows, nice snap with slapping, great detail in the high register with the bridge pickup on... it really is a very underrated and under-used fb wood. Kudos to you guys for bringing out that nice old stash for us!!

thanks that you've mentioned that because I'm thinking to put one of those Pao Ferro's from that old stash on my Imperial (instead of a rosewood board)
