I can honestly say this the easiest playing bass I have ever owned. The neck feels like it was made for my hand. Having a 5 string Monarch before that was un-Plek'd, I can tell a difference with this bass. It is like the strings could go lower, despite the fact that I had it set up with VERY low action from the shop. Simply Amazing! The tone surpassed my expectations, Jason steered me in the right direction with the wood selections. Thanks, Jason. I can say that I have finally reached a non-GAS state of being. My collections is complete now.

Gorgeous. I agree on the plek (of course you need a great neck to start with imho). I had my Monarch plek'd when it was back. It is now ridiculous to play. I've dialed back my attack to compensate for the low action, but what is cool is that I can play soft and have it be clean, then dig in a bit and get an edge that is really even across strings and up and down the neck. Whole different tone palette available. I sent the YYD back to have it done as well.

I'm still dialing back my attack now, because it is SO easy to play. I have found that I can play faster and cleaner than before. Some of the songs I used to really have to focus on are now incredibly easy to get around. Amazing!
The necks on the Fodera and the CT are INCREDIBLY comfortable, the Fodera feels more stable since the CT has a Mahogany neck. The CB is a 32", so it feels so small compared to the 35" Fodera and 36" CT.

Everytime I come in here just to look around I can hear my mom in the back of my mind saying "OK, I'm only in here for a second so keep your hands in your pockets and don't touch anything."
This video has to set some sort of record for busting the most TB stereotypes in one place:
- Your bass has too many strings
- AJ's tone is too bright
- Sitting down/having music stands on stage is unprofessional

This clip has inspired me to take the thumb-muting style all the way to the top string. I had to watch the last run twice - I couldn't believe that I had just seen him thumb that all the way through.
(and, unlike many YT vids, the video was in sync with the audio!)
The bass is wonderful. I prefer, however, Madagascar teflon as a top coating on percussion saute pans. Pure stainless is too sterile for me.

AJ's sound is very different now. This is the bass that I liked the most of his I think (out of his contrabasses). It has a Bartolini pickup. Honestly, I'm sure my own sound comes from listening to a lot of AJ from this period.
That song is one of my favorite performances by Anthony. His playing is just sublime. Amazing.
That whole DVD is great if you haven't seen it. Definitely worth getting.
