I bought their new live album after the show. If you like Tedeschi Trucks, it really is a must have. That album has been blowing my mind in my car the last couple of days (probably not a very safe thing). Whenever i stop and need to turn off my car and get out, i can't help but sit a few more minutes to finish listening to a song. Oteil has a solo on the live album that sounds like it's on his fodera and he's singing his solo as well. Really great stuff.

oh yeah!!! saw them Wednesday night in Albuquerque.. They sounded awesome. Oteil took a nice solo on the Fodera 6. Rest of the night was on the Fender which he plays great. 1 song on the banjo. I caught the sound check and his bass was actually much clearer and more defined than it was in the show. :-( It was great anyway. :-)

cool.. I have the studio and new live CD.. both great.. Live is definitely a lot of the P-bass with the flats. It sounds great.. he really captures that old school sound and it brings out a very different side to his playing. The Fodera sounded great on his solo spot at the concert Wednesday.

If you'd like to hear Oteil in a "fusion" setting check out a CD called 'Strangers Hand'. I believe he is playing Fodera's on that but not completely sure. Either way, he is amazing. Fantastic solo and support work. Jerry Goodman is on Violin, Steve Smith - Drums, and Howard Levy on everything else.. (jazz fusion on a blues harp!!!)
I believe I saw it on Amazon..

Hello There Fodera Junkies,

Just wanted to share my new AJ6 that I just received in trade from a friend of mine on TB. This is my 4th Fodera, and I have to say this is the most amazing bass that I have ever owned. So much so that I am considering selling all but 1 other and just spending as much on this one to master 6 strings. Thought I would share and see if maybe I could join the Fodera Club...

Stopped by today as I was in town from Phoenix.

On a side note, this is my favorite bass shop of all that I've visited so far, great atmosphere, outstanding instruments and great guys.

Anyways, first time I've played a Fodera in probably 12 years and I'm completely smitten. I loved this used Monarch they have in stock (above) and George let me check out one of the 5 string Monarchs because it's a bolt-on and I wanted to see the difference. I can't say enough good things about those basses. Absolutely loved the different sounds just from blending the pickups and adjusting the tone knob.

I was really looking to pick up either a Sadowsky or F-Bass, I wanted to see the UV-70 as I hadn't played one yet and the VF4 they have in stock. Great basses too and I really liked that F-Bass but the Fodera ruined me. I've always preferred jazz basses but after today, I decided to save up a little longer and make a Fodera my next purchase.

Amazing basses!

Chris is a great guy at Bass San Diego. Despite having never been, I talked with him a lot last year when pondering a deposit for one of his Imperial 5 build slots. Wound up going the used route, but will definitely contact them again when I do decide to spring for a custom build.

I played it and I'm hoping my Viceroy sounds as good and looks 2/3 as good. I haven't played the Imperial yet. I never like to be the first one to play the new basses, so I'm waiting for George to have a go at it.

Other than each being slightly different because of all the hand work, no, nothing has changed. Remember that the photos are shot with a handheld camera and so, depending on the angle of the shot, there can be differences to the look of each bass in a photo...

The EMG J's are very tight, focused, highly detailed and dead quiet. They don't have the "dirt" and "grit" that we tend to get out of vintage-style pickups, but instead have their own vibe that's a lot of fun and very useable. I have not gigged one of these but I think that they would cut through the mix very well...
