Man, they are some great shots and those faces :0) but that 's what happens when you hit those real stanky grooves. Looks Iike a real fun band. This is a different gig from the first shots, so what was the gig?

Now that's what I call a midi foot-controller..:0)

sounds great ! Can't wait to hear my Emperor which is now on the workbench of my luthier as a fretless (has nearly the same woodcombo like Christian's) :)

+1, Great player & what a bass!!
Regarding Walnut exuding a slight compression; Chris's bass is Walnut (body&top) & Ebony f/b and listening on my crappy IPhone I couldn't detect any compression?

Just wondering...If folks had to choose between The Mcbride fretless & The J.M Viceroy, which one would they grab?..
I know I'd be greedy and grab both:D

Hope the fretless conversion works out for you..Easy!

Wow, that takes guts as well as skill!! Solo performance on fretless of the anthem at a major sporting event. Wow. :)

Great performance by one of the masters... Thank you for posting Jason.

Now for the bass geek questions for Jason: (i) Do you know what strings he uses? (ii) they sound like round wounds, so... How does one maintain an ebony fretless board when using roundwound strings? (Obviously stopping the note with the minimal pressure helps, but it seems like some wear is likely...)

Hi guys!

I'm thinking on buying this Emperor II

But there are 2 things that make me doubt: the pink ivory fingerboard and the 36" scale. The pink ivory wood is prone to cracking, and the 36" seems to be uncomfortable to play (I'm used to 34").

Can you please share your thoughts and experiences with this fingerboard and scale? Thank you!

Don't kill me for saying this, but while his solo is phenominal, that bass's tone is... well... let's just say I'm glad he's playing Fodera now. :)
