Old ones are crap. You should donate the '83 to me and buy yourself a brand spankin' new one.
Be cool to have a new one with the same spec as the '83. Would be a great (but expensive) A/B comparison!
well, my 85s are my most fave basses.
i have some foderas from the 90s and from the 00s, nothing from the 10s.
the two or three i have from the 00s are based on my 80/90s basses.
overall, i think that there have been refinements in terms of body thickness and some slight tweaks to neck carving and fingerboard radiusing. i'm not getting into the preamps because i have old haz lab stuff for all of them, but don't use active electronics right now.

i've basically done that for fretted/fretless pairs. unless you specify exact body thickness and so forth, i think you'll see some of the minute differences i've mentioned.
