Oh boy...EXACT same specs? 19mm spacing, 34" scale? Chestnut tone block? Stringers? "Regular" Imperial shape (i.e. NOT MG shape?) Is it a 2 + 3 headstock, or 3 + 2? I'd like to know...or not LOL CRAP!! Can you e-mail a U.S. price ([email protected])?

Jason, you've told me I'm one of your more pickier customers, but you definitely take the cake for the crazy award (of course in a good way). And you probably have the most patient wives on the planet. My wife's initial reaction when I told her I was thinking of replacing my monarch was pretty loud. She was like, "you waited sooo long for that bass and now you want to get rid of it!"

She eventually understood and came into the bass room and asked what I was changing with the new build and so I sat her down and put two different basses in her hands to show her the difference. She understood and was happy again and now I have a new build, and this one will probably be close to the top of the list for crazy electronics options.

Having seen the bass in person, it looks far more like the Newborn photo than the cell phone photo! The top is clearly Rosewood in person -- NOT Walnut looking at all. Looks aside, the bass kills from a tone a playability standpoint. It was very difficult for us to pack her up and ship her off!!

My deal with Mrs. D (my wife) is that any time a new bass comes in, one has to leave. The likely candidate to leave is:

Please note that they are both the same shape -- some of the early Newborns on the site look slightly "squashed."

Do it. Buy it! It's a awesome bass and very rare. I agree with you on the dual coils thing

As do you. The three you now own are all distinctly unique yet share a common feature in that the tops are beautiful. We've heard sound clips from your first two Fodera's so everyone knows how good they sound. As mentioned, we are all looking forward to seeing a new family photo and viewing Youtube vids with the Bolivian Rosewood bass. Enjoy!

Yeah, I read the description after I posted :D

With twins about ready to pop the last thing I need is a third. Oddly enough I have been gazing at VWs lately and I'm not talking cars. That said, I've got another odd build in mind that if I'm going to spend the money should take precedent.

It hasn't left the shop yet...that's the point. This was an instrument ordered to be a stock instrument for Ultimate Basses. I had a chance to play it several times last week and I absolutely love its tone...so yes, I am actually contemplating buying one of our own basses from one of our Dealers! Remember I was a customer before I became Joey and Vinny's partner and I guess old habits die hard!

Yes, Tom's E5S has what we have affectionately dubbed the "Traveller" set-up. Rather than using wood screws to secure the neck, we use machine screws that mate with a set of bolts that are inset into the body of the instrument so that the neck can be removed a virtually limitless number of times without stripping the wood...

I think the wood specs for the Buckeye/Pink Ivory bass make for a really great bass, which is what I was looking for in my next build "A Rock&Roll tone monster."

I'm in the US at the moment to clear up some business and as much as I would have loved to have brought one of my Fodera' with me "Virgin Airways" aka Mr Branson's policy regarding guitars on board i.e not in the overhead locker just suck..:crying:
So, as I mentioned to Dave (The Ultimate Bloodhound) the next bass is going to be a bolt-on for sure, just so I can detach and go. So question; Does Tom Kennedy use any special neck bolt arrangement on his TK EmpII or the new E5S to facilitate this process???
