Fodera Club Part XVI

It is an amazing thing to have your basses loved on by the Fodera family. Was in the shop with my 6-string Viceroy for a Plek and to have a ramp fitted. And some minor finish dings touched up and renewed on my fretless.

Absolutely. That is one of the biggest reasons that I joined the Company as Vinny and Joey's partner. We presently have several very promising younger people training / working under Vinny and Vadym and we fully expect to be able to continue building instruments at the same quality level for generations into the future. Vinny and Joey are both actively involved in making this happen as the three of us all want our grandchildren to have access to Fodera instruments that are every bit on par (or better than) what we are building today.

if you have the bass, take a screw driver and tap along the top of the casing and see where the pole pieces are. my guess is that the top three strings will have the pole pieces along the front of the casing and the lower strings will have the poles pieces to the rear.

what's the bass?

Most of them were like that but there were also some dual coils.

Agreed. Slightly edged out by the NAMM bass from last week - I had never seen a bass with the MOP inlays running up sides of the FB like that one. I have that same inlay on a custom acoustic guitar (a Seagull, from Canada) and now will have to have it if (cough....when) I go for a custom Fodera.

Still excited to add the E5S in March!

Just wondering if a proper evaluation can be made for insurance purposes without the bass going to NYC?

I have an Imp 5 FL 36" (looks like Mahogany body w/some figuring on the top) - that a bought from an individual - 2 tiny dings in the headstock.
