i played carey nordstrand's 33.5-inch headless bass at namm. it felt fine until i tried to do the usual kind of leaps and so forth up the neck that necessitate actually having a good feel (muscle memory, brain-lock) with the scale, then it all went to hell.

I used to play 36" scale basses, then 35's and then 34's. I've been playing a 33" scale 6 string for almost 4 years now. I'll never go back. I love the warmth and the growl that I get from the 33" scale low B, and I especially love the warmth of the high C string. It's certainly different for everyone, and it's something that you just have to discover for yourself as far as what you prefer.

I'd love to see a 32" scale Fodera (with E1 as the lowest string).

Another point is how you have intagred the B string in your playing.
If you just use sometime the first notes b-c-d-e in the B string, so just focus on how you want your bass sounds in all strings.(33" or 34")

If you want the B string sounding well in almost all the neck, the 35" will be great, the 34" good and the 33" loosy before the 12 th frets.

Just my point of view...
