After reading your new rule regarding 1 build picture per bass, I feel a teenie tinge of sadness for those won't enjoy the privilage of being able to look back and see how their build morphed to life. Makes me feel doubley proud and privileged that I have a few.

I look at it as positive. Multiple build pics over a few weeks/months can be considered inhumane. Kinda like Chinese water torture.

I thought multiple build progress pics were standard for custom bass builders.

Not at all- I think it's more common with younger/newer builders, and definitely not the norm with the older established guys. It takes a lot of time, and you have to have extra administrative staff you can easily communicate with to get them. It's a hassle, especially when you have a lot of customers.

I always look at it that it is a positive if it happens, but one should never expect or ask for them. Their job is to build.

Well..... my day has come. I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse and had to jump on it. This baby is coming back to the US from the UK... I can hardly contain myself and I can't wait to get it in my hands.

Maybe I'm the exception, but I have to admit I really looked forward to seeing the progress of hand made instruments. It puts me in touch with that old word artisan feeling. After all It's because of how their built that makes them play and sound so fabulous. So yes, I admittedly question the new one pic policy, although I'm sure there are reasons for it. Because it has value to me I'd being willing to pay for it.

And yes live streaming would be acceptable

Implants...mmm too risky. The slightest miscalc could result in less than Da Vinci eyesight, could result in someone (**s**tic) getting a Cheap Trick inspired 10 neck bass..

I hear ya. That is a small concern of mine. We'll usually play for 3-3.5 hours non stop no breaks. Luckily, I also play EUB and keys synth at those gigs, so I'll take the bass off to help. My Sadowsky is 10.2lbs and this is at least 1lb heavier... We'll see.

After visiting 2/3 stores today, I soon found out that Mineral oil was not a commonly stocked product, but I found a guitar store (in Tin Pan Alley) who usually have the Fender Fretboard Conditioner, but were out of stock. On order and should be with me in a few day's.

After trying many, many different products over the years, the shop has settled firmly on mineral oil. I personally have used Fender Fretboard Conditioner (by Meguiar's) for the past seven or eight years and really love it...it's more expensive than mineral oil and doesn't do a better job, but old habits die hard!

Again, might I suggest boiled linseed oil? It can be found at pretty much any hardware store, and it does a great job. Michael Tobias got me hip to using it.

Chris, many congrats that's one fine bass. If I'm correct this bass was on show last weekend at the London Bass Guitar Show.
I spotted it and couldn't resist having a play.. Yeah! It's heavy alright, but such a joy to play with a beautiful passive tone, Active = lots to play with. The price tag was "ridiculous," but I couldn't pull the trigger. There were a few other Fodera basses at this stand: 2xMonarch 4's and an E5S. The ES5, is 1st class and I've got to say, if I were going to buy a touring Fodera 5, that would be the boy. The Fodera' were in good company, there were Skolds, ACG's & Ritter's. Mr Jens Ritter was meeting and greeting at the stand while I played your bass, but I didn't have the slightest want to play anything else afterwards. I really had to walk away and convince myself that my current two were more than enough.
