Google Glass could save a lot of time with progress pics! Check it out, Jason (if you haven't seen this already). They are supposed to release it by the end of the year. It's like a smart phone you wear like glasses and it takes voice commands. Just look at the bass and say "ok glass, take a picture," and there you go.

Did you look in the local pharmacy or grocery store? Pure mineral oil is used as a laxative, so you can find it in the "embarrassing-stuff-to-buy" section.

By the way, "baby oil" is mostly mineral oil except that they add a perfume. Because of the added scent you don't want to rub that on your wood (I deeply apologize for this pun), but Jason has previously pointed on TB that you can buy mineral oil at the pharmacy, so I assume that he is referring to the laxative.

It's a little bit interesting how many ways in which mineral oil can be used...

After visiting 2/3 stores today, I soon found out that Mineral oil was not a commonly stocked product, but I found a guitar store (in Tin Pan Alley) who usually have the Fender Fretboard Conditioner, but were out of stock. On order and should be with me in a few day's.

You are most welcome! As for your FB's, yes, you should do this at least every 4-6 months to PREVENT problems from happening.

Jason just to tell you being here on this topic for past 3-4 years I've learned so much about basses, taking care of it, and realize how great the whole Fodera team is...

It is just logistically hard to keep it all organized and also time consuming. Right now less than 10% of customers have been getting progress pics of any type, so we looked at it as a step forward in offering it to everyone at no cost...

I thought multiple build progress pics were standard for custom bass builders. If its a cost issue just add a multiple picture option on spec form and charge for it.

Not to mention more Fodera pics floating around the web is great from a promotional perspective.

You definitely do not want to / need to oil your FB. Maple, Tulipwood, Zebrawood and all other painted fingerboards require no maintenance...

Mineral oil is usually available in grocery stores and pharmacies...NOT guitar shops.

Quick commercial break...... Jason, I'll be going to California for a 9 day tour starting a little east of San Francisco and heading down south of LA. Where should I hit up some good places for wine? What are some of your favorites? I like everything. Californians feel free to respond too.

Mineral oil is edible, so I wouldn't worry about soaking it into your system...

Plus, mineral oil is petroleum based...don't really want to soak that into your system.

Tulipwood is kind of between rosewood and maple...that is a good description of it. Definitely more towards maple, though. It has a certain "rounded" brightness...

Yeah It's understandable, and this is obviously an improvement. But don't be surprised if I'm trying to slip you guys some cash on the next build for more pics though... : )

Terribly sorry for this, as I am pretty sure that this question of mine was answered numorous times by you in the past:

What about the Pau Fero FB? Also, considering the climate that I live in, which is continously humid anywhere from 20 - 100% and moist (dry on occassions only).

Any non-painted FB should be oiled regularly -- irrespective of climate, but ABSOLUTELY in dry climates.

Includes all rosewoods, Pau Ferro, all Ebonies, Pink Ivory, in short every FB material that has not been spray finished.

Haha, yeah, it doesn't take long to take a picture anyway. The logistics of uploading them to a computer, keeping the files organized and sending them to correct person is a lot more time consuming. You can probably save contacts on it and voice command "send picture to so & so," but it would also be incredibly time consuming programming in all of the customer's emails. I hate when I have to get a new phone because I have to spend half a day setting it up to do everything I want it to!
