That's EXACTLY the experience they want. They made adjustments to allow the instrument to come in at a more affordable price, and probably the biggest of which is locked/fixed configuration. They made NO adjustments in how much care and passion goes into the instrument. Trust me when I say, after having actually gigged two "Standard" models at this point, they are the REAL DEAL, and a superb value!

My friends, this thing is incredible to look at. Fit and finish is as it should be, in fact I now see the pride and passion that Vinnie, Joey, Jason and all the masters put into these instruments. All I can say is wow. I plugged it in and sat down to noodle around a bit. The neck profile for me is just about perfect, incredibly comfortable. As the bass came from Bass Central, setup was great out of the box, a quick tune up and I was on my way. Tone wise, this thing is what I would describe as a tone chameleon. I'm an older guy, so starting with some Steely Dan stuff, Ritenour, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Paul Simon, even with a little bit of Reo Speedwagon and Styx, this thing handles it all. Mike Pope, if you ever read this, I have to say that this is the preamp that just nails it. It kept me tweaking the controls in amazement as how I could dial in the perfect tone to fit the genre. Needless to say two hours of playing it and I could not put it down. The neck and balance are perfect. My main concern was how the low B would sound and it is very good for a 34" scale instrument. I have to also say that Fodera strings are hands down the best non coated strings I have played yet. On the next string change I was thinking about going to a tapered B just to experiment.

I'll be posting up pictures hopefully later today. Again, to all the gang at Fodera, just an incredible instrument that is worth every penny and those that are contemplating an E5S, if you have the opportunity to try one out, do it. You'll be very impressed and I guarantee that it will be very difficult to put it down.

To everyone of the Fodera family, I wish all of you continued success.

Wow, I thought it was bad out here. How can that be Baird, you guys are closer to New York than us island yahoos out in the middle of the Pacific. Believe me, I feel your pain. Every time I need parts for the old 5.0 Mustang, tack on 25% to the purchase for shipping. Ouch.

That's more than a model! That's Laura Fodera!

But yes, she is very pretty, and she's also a very sweet woman if you ever have the chance to meet her in person. She's in the NAMM booth a lot... just basically doing whatever needs to be done, and she was also involved in my Monarch order.

Oh, I know who she is, and we've met briefly... I also know Mr Vinnie would have some words with me, and that's why I didn't say anything more in my last post.... ;)

Besides, what would she have to do with an Air Force schmuck like me?

(And for the record I didn't post Laura's picture in my original t-shirt post. I just had the link to the store....)
