Thanks, guys! Yes, sir, I have been barely able to put it down! And I agree that the plain board was the way to go. I debated whether I should do the very elegant thin inlay around the perimeter of the fretboard, but in the end, I just couldn't bring myself to have even that small bit of Brazilian go to waste 
Not to mention that I have a piece (VERY pricey, by the way) of Braz that was made into a ramp. It's in the case, and I asked if they could leave it off until I decide when I want to install it. I'm almost thinking it was worth the price just to have that chunk of Rosewood to put under my pillow or something silly

Curt that is an awsome looking bass and the best part is it sounds better than it looks.....

Ordered a few sets of fodera ss tapered B. My old imperial never sounded so good. Thick, rich, huge bottom, articulate.

To those whose nice words came in overnight, many thanks!
I must make a comment about the low B on this beast. First off, it's the first time I've had a Thomastik-Infeld flatwound string of that size, and my first Fodera 5 string, so many things are happening at once. But, in humble opinion, that B string, even on the 34" scale, is REALLY nice. I've only had one other 5 string bass, an F Bass, which was a very nice instrument, and had a 34.5 inch scale, but especially given the low tension of the TI flats, I think this B is nicer and 'tighter'. At least from what I recall; it's been awhile since the F Bass found a new home.
I remain enthralled...well, guess I'l go get my new bass and play a little

Does the tapered B make much of a difference?
I am using .040-.120 SS Foderas on all my basses not, but haven't tried the tapered B.
