Fodera Club Part XX

Wow! This (or from the same batch as it is almost identical) was my 2nd choice when I was at the shop in March.

I bought a top from the same batch as Nostatic's, but it was a tough decision. This one is a beauty.

I believe these two is actually the same top because of the grains are the same, also, I browsed other top pic you took during the shop visit and one was the one I chosen for my build. would you mind for me sharing that? :D

Thanks - map props to the Fodera crew as always. The non-solid top is a bit of a different vibe and I like how it breaks up the darker tops. Kind of a retro thing happening. This one reminds me of the older AJ models. The neck shape on both basses is ridiculously comfortable - best 5-string shape I've every played. This bass really sings unplugged, will get to fire it up this evening.

I am not a 5-string guy, but your two Monarchs with the narrow spacing are just delicious!

Narrow spacing, you say? Hmmm... that doesn't look too narrow. What is the spacing on those? I do find that I prefer spacing on the skinny side of 19mm, and if you guys could do around 18.5mm on a custom, that's likely an option I would be interested in pursuing.

It's 17.5 mm. My MG is 16.5 mm and it's perfect

17mm and below is too tight for my liking, just as anything over 19mm is too wide. 18.5 is definitely my preferred sweet spot, but 18 works well for me, too.

This is, of course, a very subjective thang, and YMMV.
