I think the guys in Brooklyn looked the wrong word up in the dictionary when deciding to label these things as "standard". My god that is beautiful wood!

Good call on the bolt on choice, Timothy. I LOVE my bolt on Emperor 5! Also, I was in HK last month....very cool city you live in!

That's really nice as I thought most of the top woods are an up charge. Hmm, that's got me thinking about changing the top on my current EII build. Maybe a certain wood from the 50th State that shall remain nameless. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, I thought about switching to singles on my build but I decided I wanted to stick with the maximum versatility of the duals... plus I already have a lot of single coil based basses and also really dig the sound of these duals, allowing me to broaden my tone base too.

Exactly what I thought as well. You can't go wrong with that Dual mode / fatty bridge pickup sounding on a Fodera.

yeah, and i understand the single mode on these will not be the same as having strictly singles, but i'm ok with that, because i do also really like the single mode sound of the duals as well.

While dual coils have their charms, frankly I still find that a P pup is my favorite.

i'm interested in whether both coils in the fodera dual coils are j coils or not.

my custom dual coils (nordstrand shop) have one p coil and one one j coil.
