I get what you're saying. The Barts are a little short compared to modern six string pickups but they will cover the outside strings, even if you max out the string spacing to 21mm. I think people don't like the look of them but they are 100% usable. I heard that when Fodera ordered the Barts from Bill Bartolini, they wanted them to fit both 5 and 6 string basses, so cosmetically it is a bit of a compromise, they look too big on fivers and too small on sixes. But they do work well...😃

they basically work, but there is some lack on the low b string. i actually talked to the fodera guys and rick turner about this issue. both camps felt that the lack of extra coverage made thing less than optimal.

the cosmetics didn't worry me one bit.

todd. that's the first one???

simple and classy.

sweet. congrats.

Yup, the fretted twin is in (or out) of finish and should be here soon. You should come check out this one - interesting beast in my short first stint. Came in just a tad over 10lbs which is the same as the MGS. I can say that rolling in a bit of bass brings the thunder.

Just stunning.

I am thrilled that I picked a top from the same batch for my current Monarch 5 build when I was in Brooklyn in March.

I was told by Jason after I looked at at least a dozen others and decided on mine that it was the same walnut as the "Nostatic" top. Todd has great taste!:D

I am also excited that I listened to Joey when he told me to pull the abalone inlays from the build as that top with ebony (fretted) would look great with no inlays or dots.

Just when I was whining to my wife this morning about paying down a bunch of my balance tomorrow, seeing a bass like this makes it an easy call to Laura or Phil.:hyper:

The basses coming out of Fodera seem to get better looking every day.:bassist:
