I am the person making the tuners. I must say it has been an honour to make these parts. It has taken many, many hours, but I have enjoyed every moment, knowing who will use them in the end. Thanks alot also to Jason, Joey and Vinny Fodera for their patience.

The Titanium tuners weigh approx. 10% (0.2 oz) less than the regular UL tuners. (1.2 oz less, for a set of 6).

Besides weight, we now also have Ti at the second end of the string, as a complement to the Ti bridge. The influence on sound I guess is a subjective matter, and I have not done enough testing to give an opinion.

I attach a picture of the what the tuners looked like in uncoated condition, during a test drive.

Gotta love Titanium! My Moots rides like a dream and I have a 20+ year old Litespeed that still looks new. Congrats on a fine job with those tuners! Working with Ti is difficult as seen on a recent factory tour at Moots..

Thank you for the compliment!, you are correct Ti is a bit tricky to work with and needs a lot of practice to get a grip on both tool selection and getting the right finish.

A good thing with titanium that it retains its finish quite well. Have seen bridges used for a few years that looks as new after just a quick cleaning. It is extremely resistant to salts and acids (e.g sweat from hands).

using Black Diamond nickels 40-120. Greatest nickel rounds I've ever had the pleasure of using. They last a good while and the tension is perfect, which comes in really handy for that short scale B!

Just out of curiosity - for anyone using a 33" Fodera fiver strung B-G what strings (type and gauge) are you using?

Usually Zon Nickels, 0.120-0.035 or Thomastik-Infeld round wound nickels, 0.118-0.043, though on occasion I swap up to 0.130-0.045 Zon Nickels.

I play a 34" scale, but have had a lot of fun and luck with Fodera Nickel and Steel 40-120 rounds. I can't imagine there would be any issue using them on a 33" scale. Great strings!

Hou, that is one beautiful bass! I've enjoyed a lot of your video and audio clips in which you used that bass. Seems you must be head over heels for that MG 5!

Any ‘The Office’ (U.S. version) fans out there?

The theme song for The Office was written by Jay Ferguson and performed by The Scrantones.
The group consists of Bob Thiele (guitar, aka "Joey Scrantone") and his friends Dillon O'Brian (piano), Brian Macleod (drums) and Hal Cragin (bass).
The group was unnamed at the time they recorded the theme, one week before the premiere.
When the band reappeared in the episode Booze Cruise, they had dubbed themselves "The Scrantones."

And speaking of the Booze Cruise, in that episode, the band is on camera in several scenes showing Hal playing a Fodera!

BTW, Creed Bratton, a permanent cast member and who takes over the guitar from Michael Scott towards the end of the scene, used to play guitar with the Grass Roots.

Anybody out there have a Emperor standard 5? The prices aren't too horrid and I am wondering how the neck compares to an American Lakland. As well as weight. Most basses I have played will top out at 9 / 9.5 and will the standard 5 top out at the same?

Different one. Richard's had the same top and body wood but had an Ebony FB. Somewhere along the line it got fretted and I owned it for about 2-3 years after the fretting. MArcus still owns his. He used it on the fretless work he did with Miles...

Not sure about the neck (vs. the Lakland), but my E5S weighs 9lb 15oz. (an ounce shy of 10 pounds). I've been using a Comfort Strapp and it's been fine.
