Oh! My mistake- I thought it was the same one that had changed hands. I could've sworn I heard that somewhere.

Just got my e5s yesterday. 9 ish pounds. I must say it is the best bass I ever played. Although I had the shop install a strap lock on the bottom cutaway like my other basses (I play weird) it is perfectly balanced and a joy to play.

I can't imagine anyone not loving this bass. I say go for it.

Wow. I played one of the new Monarch Standard fretlesses today over at Bass San Diego, and was blown away by the sound. I played it through a ToneHammer 500 and Bergantino HD212. The TH500 doesn't usually work for me, but that Monarch had a rich tone top to bottom through it. Maybe it's that red oak neck. It sounds as good as or better than my former Pedulla ThunderBolt 5 fretless. Great-looking bass, too.

The YYD is on the bridge pup, so that is part of the difference. The M5 is on the bridge pup, but isn't nearly as aggressive. I think those examples are a great illustration of EMG J pup vs dual coil.

It is funny how from night to night my ears and hands will be different and I'll end up eq'ing or biasing pups differently. Last night I was on the bridge pup a lot more, probably since I was looping the low lines and playing stuff over the top and wanted the cut.

I wish I had the recorder off the floor as in the house there was a lot more drum machine and violin. But at least I can hear my bass - sometimes that isn't such a great thing though :D

Looks sweet. Fodera does know how to make a great fretless. I have high hopes for mine, as I think once the dust settles I'll have one bolt-on, one dovetail, and one neck-through. Just to be complete.

I have a bit of bass dialed in - I typically do that when I'm on the bridge pup.

The EMGs have their own thing and I like it. They can get a bit towards the "plastic" side of things, but they have an edge that works for me. I can always hear what I'm doing and what is going on. The dual coils have taken me a bit longer to figure out, and they usually end up sounding much better on gigs than at home. They sound polite and home and "pretty", but will edge up a bit. Probably because I'm digging in a bit harder.

The group was unnamed at the time they recorded the theme, one week before the premiere.
When the band reappeared in the episode Booze Cruise, they had dubbed themselves "The Scrantones."

And speaking of the Booze Cruise, in that episode, the band is on camera in several scenes showing Hal playing a Fodera!

Sun I had a jazz gig at the Culver Hotel. Fun place, though the room is a tad boomy. I took my YYD and Rob Allen Deep 4. But after the second song I texted my wife and asked her to bring my M5 fretless with her (she was coming for the 2nd/3rd set) as I was missing the sound. I *love* my Rob Allen and it is a special bass, so that is saying something about the Fodera...

Awesome, best of luck with the sale Christian. My 2008 MG Imperial Might be for sale next year. Id like to limit myself to 3 Foderas as I have a bolt on built due mid next year. I just started slapping again since my neck injury healed up and made this video:



I am told that I am not allowed to sell this bass, but I feel like my small hands fight with the 19mm spacing. Anyway, I am considering some different wood combinations with the bolt on build (focus on slap tone) and I think I know how its going to go but if anyone has recordings/vids of their bass slapped please either send them to me or post them up. Thanks in advance.
