For those who wanted to hear a clip, here is a quick and dirty comparison. Logic drum track, Monique straight into a Saffire interface. First riff is neck pup (dual coil), second is bridge pup (dual coil), third is 50/50 (single coil). Nothing fancy. EQ flat on the basses, running active, passive tone about 75% open. Strings on the M5 are much older than the M4, but both are Fodera nickel 40-100. No compression or effects.

Thanks, yes redwood. Non-solid on this one, but the pup covers are redwood and the ramp is brw. ~3 months away!

Yes, exactly. The redwood 5 in January and then a bolt on mid next year. I'm still tossing around the bolt on specs, but I'd like to get a great slapper and limit it to around 10 lbs. Definitely going single coil and lately I've even been debating 4/5 string. Help!!! Input always appreciated...
