I agree. I would love to visit some day. I'd be too embarrassed to try out a bass there though. Talently challenged.

That is nice. Congrats. One of the best looking NYCs I have seen. Be interesting to see how it sounds compared to an E5S....
Yeah, I am not one of those guys who goes to a music store and plays my fastest, funkiest most impressive licks. When I demo a bass I usually do some slow chromatic stuff up and down the neck to get a feel for the instrument and see if the neck is straight, check for dead spots. etc. It is sorta clinical but that's how I've always done it.
On one of my early visits to Fodera I was sitting with Joey playing a bass that I was about to buy. Joey ("the bass whisperer") is so patient and supportive that I was not too nervous playing my feeble stuff in front of him. What did make me nervous was having Matt Garrison in the next room having one of his basses worked on! Don't know if he could hear me (probably not) but it did worry me a little. I've since gotten to know Matt a little and he's a sweet guy; really should not have been concerned. I think I commented to Jason that I was nervous playing with Matt Garrison around but was kinda happy that Anthony Jackson wasn't in that day! He just smiled! (I am under that impression that the place in under lock-down when Mr. Jackson visits so they probably wouldn't have let me in anyway!)
every time i play in front of other bass players, i know that they i know i'm a fraud.
oh well.

I sat down to start playing and notice a guy coming up to chat with George. That guy is Alain Caron. Yeah, no pressure playing a bass where they guy who it was named after is standing 3' away![]()
I find myself getting angry with Fodera. They put out such beautiful basses, and I know I can't afford them. Well I can, but it's not a good financial decision to keep buying basses for $12k. I currently have one on order (as we all know), but I can't help that I want another. Then there are so many options, its impossible to have all the combinations. I'm thinking about getting a second job just so I can have a supplemental income so I can buy more basses. Smh
No speculation as to the soon to be released new standards? I'm hoping there's a 6 six string model.
