Maybe its my browser. All I see are the NAMM basses and the Katalox Monarch 6. Even when I go to the Feb 14 archives, all I see is the Katalox.
Am I insane for considering a Yin Yang deluxe as my entry in to Fodera? Would go with a standard but I'm a maple board guy and unfortunately it doesn't seem like the standard offers that.
Btw if exposed poles ever bother your finger tips, it takes 15 minutes to pull the pups out and add a spacer to make the poles flush. I used 1/16" foam tape, and installed it right where the pup meets the wood pup cover so there is no stress on the front of the finished part. Works great.

You are a friggin' mind reader! I actually I sent an email to Ultimate last night changing the pickup covers to non-exposed on my next build as I noticed I don't like the exposed poles with a ramp on my Monarch.
It seems many folks like me that buy a Standard first end up selling the Standard at a loss to buy a Custom. "Gateway drug" is a good Standard descriptor (TM/copywrited by nostatic)![]()

I will try the tape trick. Thx!

ES5 pickup placement = genius.
I was wondering why i liked the neck pickup so much, so i measured it up, its pulled back into the p-bass neck pickup placement, not j-bass neck coil. And the bridge pickup ... one coil in 70s j-bass position, the other close to 60s J.
My favorite bass is an ash/rosewood 71 p-bass. The ES5 is a cousin.
buy it
