What are you nervous about, and which pups. I have walnut/BRW/DC's, and it's awesome. And I have walnut/ebony/EMG, and it's awesome.

At the end of the day, life is short and you're dead a long time. There are far worse things one could spend money on...

Exactly what I said immediately after my 1st passive standard Fodera!
Now my response when my wife or friends ask why I have two basses which look almost exactly the same:
"Oh... they have different strings! Also... um... TONEWOODS."

Yeah they seem rare as hen's teeth, especially over this side of the pond. I'll likely put in an order for my own Monarch P before the end of the year. Something about the minimalism (nihilism?) combined with the Fodera aesthetic really does it for me.

Although to be honest, an almost pristine sunburst Emperor Classic J 4 showed up on Bassdirect.co.uk for like, £2,750 and if I'd had the cash on hand at that moment I would've snapped it up immediately. Of course someone else has, but I'll keep an eye out for any good used deals before I pull the trigger.

It just equally good as the custom I had.

It would be very helpful If any club member could share your experience on setting the freq point of the eq?
The module and jumper look different on the std than the custom pre..and can't find details instruction on the site.

I have 16.5 spacing on my 6-string and 18 on my 5-string. I don't struggle to go back-and-forth, but I do notice the difference and prefer the 16.5mm spacing because my right hand fingers have less distance to travel which--to me--feels more natural and means I can play passages involving a lot of string crossings faster.

But I suspect that I am in the minority. My general impression from this forum is that most players prefer a wider spacing. That may be because others employ a lot of slap (I rarely do, but when the moment calls for it I have never found accuracy to suffer with 16.5mm spacing) or because they are used to instruments without the extended register and extra string(s). But even on a 4-string I would prefer a narrower spacing for the reasons I gave above: less distance for my right hand.

I'm with you, I have 16.5mm on my 6ers, 18mm on my 4 and 5 strings :)
