Den er flot!!!

Those guys are great! Beez and Joel have been great to work with. I can't wait for my Fodera!

I am fortunate enough to live close the GS, David is the best, this is the second Fodera I have bought from him, (they are consigning the other to help make this one happen). Anyway you cant go wrong with those guys. I have seen your thread on your Fodera... be patient! it will pay off.

Here's my 95 Emperor Deluxe 5. An unbeliveable bass. The B string is tight even though the 34" scale. My then girlfriend bought this for me one Christmas, so I married her! :hyper:

How true. I'm am in no way rich - I work hard for everything I have and sacrifice in some areas to aquire things that I really want.

Set you mind on something, figure out a game plan and go for it....

Exactly. It all comes down to priorities. I know I want a Fodera and I'm going after it.

It takes sacrifice too. I would really like a new 24" iMac, a 50" LCD TV and a PS3 but I'm getting a Fodera instead.

I gave up quite a bit of other gear to make my Fodera happen ... For me it was a no brainer in that way and totally worth the sacrifice. I am NOT rich, but I work hard and in my mind nothing else Ive played comes close so why not go for it. Hell I have easily spent more than this one on many other basses and gear over time.
As well this is not another trade away, I pickup and play this bass everyday with total satisfaction the tone and feel as well as the way its constructed make it a joy, really!

I think having funds tied up in instruments helps a lot too. I have been buying, selling and trading instruments of all kinds since the early 90's and I've been able to come across some great basses. Without the brand and price awareness that we have today, there were many more deals to be had. After keeping my eye out for rare basses and those with good value, I was able to keep my own little micro-economy flowing.

Most of my money is tied up in instruments and gear. Much of it primarily in my double bass, Fodera and my mandolin. I am really into classical guitars right now so in the near future, I plan on ordering a spruce top Hauser style and a legit 7-string like a Tessarin or Byers. I also want to do a lot of traveling and selling my stuff is how I'm gonna make that happen.

I was fortunate to get in the pool when I did and I was lucky enough to invest in good values and ones that I could enjoy and perform on and make even more money! If you really set your sights on a Fodera (or any other instrument for that matter), it's totally within the realm of possibility.

I agree with the thread about priorities. I have watched people I work with spend money on home electronics, getting a new car every three years, crazy expensive shoes, you name it. Yes, Foderas are expensive, but the best of anything always is. Yes, some will argue that there are other basses in the same league, but man I don't know any that are better. Also, they hold their value like crazy so if, God forbid, your situation changes, you can get your money back out of the gear. Try doing that with a $1,000 production bass from the big manufacturers...FORGET it. BTW, I have one Monarch 4-string and another on the way. Will post pictures of the one I have when I get a minute. Cheers!
