Hi there Butterfly Clubbers,

I am still gently breaking her in after 4 months, and she's sounding better by the week. Attached also is a simple recording of a buddy of mine from a Carribbean isle called Dominica, laying down a sweet groove right here at home in Beijing.

Enjoy the pics again.

Kind regards,
Beebebop,
Beijing.

That bass is incredible...wow!

Tulipwood!!! Interesting. I've never seen that as top or fretboard material. It really looks nice! Enjoy!

It looks amazing its nice to see a wood that isnt just used to death..

First it was flames, then quilts, then burls, then spalteds etc..

Everyone seems to go in spurts..

But tulipwood.. NEVER EVER have I seen that.. That makes that bass to me one of the prettiest I have seen cause its not like every other bass..

Beautiful

who here is bypassing the onboard preamp? and why? are you using an external pre in its place or are you staying passive?

Me! =) I love the sound of my Foderas when they are passive. I use passive in single-coil mode most of the time. You can hear the wood sing this way. Depending on the gig or tunes, I turn the preamp on with the EQ flat or just boost the lows a bit. The sound when the EQ is flat is pretty much a boosted passive sound. The pre is more of like a booster this way.

Here's the latest addition to my Fodera club:

Alder body and tone block
Ebony board on maple neck
Rainbow maple top

I'm loving the bass. Amazing tone, playability, and handling. The PU's are also in 60's spacing, which I'm digging a lot since my main bass is 70's spacing.
