A friend of mine used to ahve one just like that but it was a 4 string...he is a bit of a Mark King nut! However, he sold that, his Jaydee and his Kingbass and bought a Fodera Monarch, so...

I wasnt comparing to Fodera,I have a few incredible Emperor,s just was looking for opinions on playability,tone,etc...

I never said that you were...
However, he loved it, but in the end the Fodera was more what he was looking for from a bass, so he sold the Alembic.

Still, why bring it up in the Fodera Club thread?

That bass rules! Everyone who came in and played that bass freaked out over it. It's got a very magical quality to it.

Your basses rock! Good to see them again here. I saw them first at the Grooveshoppe forums and they are just unbelievable. It really pays off when you put a lot of thought in custom instruments like these. Are the bodies of the Emperor II's downsized?

Yes Miko they both are downsized..amongst other things.
Again, like I posted in another Fodera thread, I dont know of many other shops that would have entertained and executed all the custom specs on these...and some other's that I've seen too. Great to see all the different Foderas here.

The Grooveshoppe rocks! I've got a custom Imperial on order with them and David is the best guy to deal with. My specs have been changing like crazy, but they handle it really well to make the planning stage a success.

I love Foderas and enjoy the 4 strings but they are rare. Take a look at these (they are not mine)

Kinda thinking about putting some Bart duals in mine instead of the Duncans...the MK1 size is the same as my duals.

Don't you like the SD. Have you concider Nordstrand? I have Nordstrand Single Coils in my Emperor and the sound is super!
