Hello all,

Can anybody tell me the exact positions of the pickup magnets of a 4-string Duncan dual coil pair on a 34' scale Fodera - measured from the 24th fret to the mid of the pole pieces ? I don't need the string spacing - I need the exact pickup positions along the strings. If somebody knows also the exact dimensions of the bobbins - would be very helpful also....

I own a Fodera Monarch where I would like to install Nordstrand dual coil pups at exactly those positions where the standard Fodera dual coils are placed. Originally there were Duncan dual coils installed on the bass. Unfortunately the previous owner replaced them with wider EMGS and routed the body to get place for them. Now I would like to re-install dual coils and need to tell Carey the correct dimensions.

Would be great to get an advise for that.

I will put the dual coils into custom wooden covers slightly larger than the Duncan ones so the extra routes should be repaired after the procedure.

All the best
Rainer

Hi there!

I'm finally qualified to become member of the Fodera Club!!!
And thats cos I recently own a nice black Fodera NYC with
alder/rosewood wood combo, much warmer then the obvious ash/maple ones that are far more widely spread.
And yes it has this amazing deep thick 'n growly tone that most of the top emperors have.. lucky for me:D
I bought it from Glenn at Bass Specialties Bensalem and let mr Gerald Veasley sign it, I was lucky to join a short Clinic with him and Anthony Wellington who also got his new Emperor Fodera aswel that day! I mean that was just my lucky day!

Picktures will follow ofcourse!

Ehm now how do I become a member and have a members number???:D

Thanks guys great to be here!:hyper:

Welcome Brams77... you will se that your new NYC is just the beginning - soon you will order some other Fodera... (one Fodera requires another, than another... it is a never ending story...). Good luck - enjoy playing, and discovering all the possibilities of your NYC.

Its just the beginning!!!???:ninja: I know how that works hehe:p... But still there's a huge price gap between this new NYC and a second hand "real" fodera... I bought this one under 2800 dollars. And seriously this thing sounds rediculous man! and better than some 2nd hand Emperors Ive tried in some stores I've been to. But as with great Fenders the real good ones stay with their owners perhaps:D
I think my next bass and that ones thas gonna be next to this one would be a MTD. They sure a re ugly but boy do that play sound/sweet and they sound very different than my NYC or my 1971er jazz.:smug:

Anyways thanks for the warm welcome!

Cheers!

here is my fodera emperor deluxe

Called up today about the guitar, they said that it will be ready by end of the month (which would make it a full three years, but also I have heard this several times) and also got a number on the bill, which was a fair bit over what was stated. I was given reasons for the increase, which is basically the same things Joey told me on the phone every time I talked with him for the last 3 years.

not so sure I am a happy camper, but really I just want to be done with all of this. seriously.
