Can't get the first clip to play, but the other two did. Thanks. It really helps having a sort of background and context when listening to this stuff that I'm so unfamiliar with. Very cool. DEEP grooves going on, but SO different from the grooves I feel and am familiar with. New is good (well, at least new for me!).

Nice. I have a stock 55-01 and I hate the way those pickups compress when I start slapping. I may or may not do an upgrade. I may keep it all Bart though. Just the 'better' Barts! :)

Yeah me too, thats why i sold mine. Didn't want to go through the hassle of upgrading the pickups AND preamp. Got me Marcus Miller Jazz that indeed does the job better, IMO. I agree the song and tone was nice. Sat just right in the mix to my ears. His groove was important to the song, thats why is was prominent in the mix. And i agree too Goapele is so sexy!!! :)

In regards to the "dragging" style of playing, after reading these posts I think a lot of players don't really get it, somehow thinking it is not in the pocket....it is, in my opinion VERY much in the pocket! It's a technique and style just like anything and God bless players like Palladino and Saadiq who can pull it off!
