(For Hofner experts) Is this the real deal?!

Hi guys,

This guitar is for sale in my town,
but I was suspicious about it's origins... specialy for logo.
I can see that the teacup knobs are new (because of color), and that the tuners are Fender-like, pickups seems fine, binding also, tailpiece could be good... but I've never seen such a small and in-printed logo...

Is it real Hofner, or fake?

It's a late 60's or early 70's 500/1. Looks original except for the tuners which have been changed.

The case is original as well.

Hard to tell. Continuity isn't Hofner's specialty. They tended to use whatever they had available.
Pickups are legit, it is what they used after 1967 to replace staple.
The logo looks exactly like the ne you typically find on the back of the head, not the front. Now it is entirely possible that they had a shortage of front stickers and cut the logo from a back sticker to keep production going.
As far as I know Hofner never used clover type machine heads so these were probably retrofit.
There is an issue with the tailpiece too. Circa 1965 they changed the design . The 3 central bars stopped protruding behind the crossbar. This doesn't fit with the 1967 pickups.
But yeah it could very well be legit since many Hofners have singularities.

It's price is 600 euros, so it's not like THE deal of decade, but it's still almost 3 times cheaper than the new one...

I'll buy it, if it works well and have no hidden faults...
