I was just reading that the WEC is going to all renewable fuels starting next year, I wonder , has this been a topic of discussion in F1 as well ? I guess we will have to see how that works out, I can only assume that there has been extensive testing in order for them to make that proclamation, no word as to IMSA following suit.

I was all ready to go to the US Grand Prix this year but with the resurgence of Covid down there I'm not sure I want to wade into that, maybe next year

Maybe not. From the article...

"The report, from RACER's Marshall Pruett and Chris Medland, seems to indicate that Andretti has already talked to Gene Haas about purchasing his program. Those calls were exploratory in nature and have not gone further, leading Andretti to instead target the two teams owned by private equity firms on the grid."

I see Ferrari have joined AM and RB in voicing their belief that in order to protect teams in the budget cap era the team who's driver causes an accident should be the team that pays the bill.

Surprisingly honest from AM considering Lance has done a bit of damage this season, but it seems pragmatic to me. I can't see Toto liking it because his team would already be over £5 million in the hole for this years carnage.

Personally I like the idea. Its unsporting for a team to suffer such a disadvantage when a budgets are capped, and it also prevents other teams deliberatly getting feisty to try and financially hamstring an opponent. You can bet that sooner or later someone would try it.

Maybe thee greatest road course in the world, Would love to watch but I dont have cable to get ESPN, does anyone know of any streaming site that might carry the race ?

I see that Zandvoort is back on the schedule, another great iconic circuit, will this be televised as well ?

One of these days I will get over there to watch these races in person. Would love to see Monza too.

Watching the last three guys going at it, and hearing "George is faster than Hamilton in the first 1/4 -- George is faster at the 1/2" -- on intermediates! Massive bravery going on. There was standing water at several points. Then after the quals during the interviews the skies opened back up. Seems Hamilton and Mercedes were ironing out a race day set-up, a gamble, as he was tentatively on the pole at that point, but it may pan out in the race.

Me thinks the Williams cars will be in their usual spots 20 laps into the race.

So that's an interesting rule - three laps behind the safety car and call it a race with half points. As excited as I was for Russell to qualify P2 yesterday, how anti climactic is it that his first podium and the first podium for Williams in how many years is in this fashion?
