Formula 1/F1/Formula One

Fun race today. Lewis and Max are definitely a cut above. Lewis left nothing in the bag, Max/RedBull just too strong today.
No passing, tell that to Checo.
Passes were there to be had, but on the outside of the turns. Only those willing to take the risk were able to make them, but there were several really nice moves, Checo, Lando, Russell and of course Alonzo come to mind. All great drivers, which is what it took today.
How much fun is it watching Alonzo?!?! With the best livery and Alonzo driving, I’m really enjoying Alpine this year. Not the same without Cyril’s Gallic histrionics, but glad to see another constructor who does both chassis and engine package doing well. That’s what F1 is about.

Lawrence Stroll was seen at dinner with Flavio Briatore, whomis Alonso's manager, and that it what started the rumours. However, Stroll says Briatore is a personal friend and that have gone out for meals on may occasions over the years...
Reference from a different thread: Stroll goes to Denny's... :woot:

Yep, there was some great action, today. Happy to see Max get the win, although there were some points in the race (no pun) that it didn't seem that would, necessarily, be the case.

Let the driver do his thing, it shouldnt be all about the car and its high tech gadetry and aero package. A good driver can make most any decent set up car work. Much like a good bass player can make great music even on a less expensive instrument, same theory.

It will be interesting to see how next years cars perform, will they work as they think? I guess we'll have to see.

Nobody likes a follow the leader kind of race, but I wouldnt blame the race course. These guys get paid lots of money to drive fast and take chances.

As much as I truly enjoy Sky's coverage, their blatant love for the British drivers is gonna drive me nuts when they start their gushing over Russell.

Btw, speaking of British drivers, I reality enjoyed Jenson Button in the booth over the weekend. His observations are sharp and his insight is still timely... he brings great stuff to the table.

Russell in a Mercedes will be very interesting. Would be fun to see him give Hamilton a run.

New cars does make for some interesting seasons. Always fun to see who hits the setup out the box, who adapts, and then how quickly.

Hopefully they aren't duds and put on a good competitive show. I feel like the DRS has helped quite a bit with the passing on the straights.

George Russell confirmed at Mercedes for 2022 season:
Russell confirmed at Mercedes for 2022 season

The obvious announcement has been made.
I am excited to see how this pans out...
I am sorry Sky F1 obviously gushes over the British drivers....That is the UK culture....But, here in Canada , you would not know that there even is such a thing as Formula One...Ugh!!!

In fact the Toronto TV Channels did not even show the Air Show on TV , that was flying overhead all weekend! and never did.
Nor the Molson/ Honda Indie racing

Glad to have Russell, Norris and Albon on the grid together again in 2022. The interviews they had with the three of them together last year were fun to watch. Add Leclerc & Gasly to this list and you have a pretty bright future for F1.
And, Max. It’s easy to forget that he’s only 23 years old. He’s been in a top team for so long, it seems like he’s an older driver.
