Resolved Forum hopping & display

This is a little thing but one that I'd like to bring to Paul's attention. The previous version of TB allowed the user to move or hop from one forum to another via a pull down menu that was at the bottom of each page. This new version doesn't have this ability. In order to change (or hop) to another forum, you must now scroll to the top of the page and place your curser over the word FORUMS in the dark blue header box and then choose which forum you want to jump to.

Is it possible to add a pull down menu at the bottom of each page to allow the user to move to another forum?

Also, with the previous versions of TB, when returning to the site newly posted or responded too threads would show up in bold type and would continue to be shown in bold until the last posting the user had seen which all posts there after would be displayed in non-bold type. Is there a way to set preferences to have the new board display this way (like the old board did)?

I'm using the Classic version of the new board for display.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure we'll be putting a "forum jump menu" at the bottom... Can you use the auto-scroll arrows to zip yourself back to the top to use the Forums drop-down jump menu?

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with your second point. Unread and newly responded to threads do appear in bold type on the new software, and they'll continue to be bold until you read them (or mark forums read)... right? What am I missing?

Paul, sure I can use the auto-scroll no problem. But after having and using the forum jump menu for the past 10+ years I miss it. I had to ask.

I'm finding that unread threads do show up in bold. However, when I return to TB, the previous posted threads up to that point are also in bold. The previous version of TB S/W would display only new postings in bold from the last visit to the site all other threads were displayed in non-bold. Is it possible to display upon returning to TB the last date and time one visited? I think that was a feature of the previous S/W. If it's not possible to display the date/time of your last visit, is it possible to have only newly posted threads display in bold and all others in non-bold? What I'm looking for is a quick reference point from my last visit. Again, I have to ask.

Have you tried the quick navigation button at the bottom right?

It brings up a menu that includes a scrollable forums list:

This was not a 'feature' but a limitation :) Now, all threads will remain bold until you actually do read them. The old board just marked everything read after 15 minutes of inactivity. To get your desired behavior, when you're done browsing TalkBass just "mark all forums read" (forum sub-menu at the top). Then when you come back only new postings since your last visit will be in bold.
