as it has been said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is Within". You don't need to beleive in anything but that.

( P.S. keep the negative vibes outside your gates. Do not honor them by acknowledgement. They reduce the harmonic Hz to no more than dirt, i.e, you can't fly no more. )

This thread (and the story within) is the sole reason I joined this forum. I'm a guitarist by trade (but, hey, I have a P-Bass in my studio for laying down tracks :)) and I have a bunch of shredders watching this thread now from another message board I belong to.

GE - you're a good man. Stay with your gut feelings for they serve you well.

Andre - Stay strong, ignore the (miniscule) fodder of this forum. I hope you and Butch are never separated again. Oh, and get some rest. Take care of yourself so that you'll be around for a good long time.

I'm out, but I'm subscribing to this post - be sure of it.

Like many, many, MANY TB members, I have followed your story very closely, and have been over-joyed that you were able to connect with your brother. I shared the story with my wife, and it brought a tear of happiness to her eye.

As a long time member of the TB community, I feel a deep sense of pride that another long-time TB'er was able to not only bring some joy to your brother, but also facilitate your reunion. Please know that the TB forum is filled with people who are equally as generous and caring as G.E. has been.

Please ignore the few nay-sayers. They do not speak for the TB comminuty as a whole, and if you look, most of them are new members. The one you quoted in your last post apparently joined TB only to make a negative comment. He has no history on TB, and does not represent the TB community. It makes me angry that a couple of negative people can so easily tarnish a positive situation.

I understand that you are not familiar with TB, but for a thread to get to 20+ pages in just a few days means something VERY special is happening, and please don't forget that almost all of the nearly-400 comments (and climbing) were positive words for you, your brother, and G.E.

TB truly is a wonderful, positive online community. I hope you can remember us as such. Please don't let one bad apple ruin the bunch. For those of us who share the TB community every day, your wonderful story will be remembered for a very long time.

This is such a great thing to see especially having seen this thread from the start as a random act of kindness into something literally life changing!

for those who accused it of being a scam, i'd say shut up. what benefit is there from throwing so much negativity into a thread like this? the world (and internet) needs more stories like this.

Hi all, long time lurker with a few forays into a Mustang Bass and Starfire II Bass. Read this gem via The Gear Page. What a way to start off the decade, eh? Congrats to all parties involved and here's hoping for more great news for everyone in the future!

This is a fascinating and wonderfully comforting unfolding/convergence of events. All credit must go to General Electric for this. Human kindness, trust and respect are the most important virtues for all life on this earth. GE, I salute you, you have made an unmeasurable difference to some people's lives.

Now, the hard bit. This was not a "random act of kindness". GE is almost certainly kind in all sorts of ways every day, I would think that kindness is natural to him. I find it deeply disrespectful to him to call this a "random act".

To those shouting "scam", you have demonstrated no kindness, only selfish pomposity and negativity. You have demonstrated no desire to help, only the desire to be able to say you were right and everyone else was wrong. Next time you are presented with such an opportunity, why not measure out nine inches of that duct tape you have in your cave and apply it over your mouth?

I hope the brothers are very happy.

While you and your brothers have evey right to choose to keep this story private if you wish, I still must echo everyone who's posted since your last post: there are (probably thousands) of people who have been hanging on every word in this thread and would absolutely love to hear more about the outcome and see some pictures!
- G.E., I'm still hoping we'll see some pics of Butch getting his bass tomorrow -

Andre, so many people have commented on how inspired this has made them and how they want to run out and do something kind and generous. While it's your choice, just imagine how many people would be inspired if you did allow your story to be broadcast to a wider audience (i.e. TV or maybe even newspaper).

What if G.E. had never decided to give your brother a bass and post here about it? You may never have found each other again.

Now imagine what may or may not happen to all the people in need out there, or all the long-lost relatives if you do not share your story with the world and possibly inspire someone to help them out.

Please Andre, at least consider going public with this. Imagine the potential joy and good fortune you could spread by doing so.
