Very slow unfortunately. Not many people want to come out when the weather isn't nice, and we're right by the water.

The date has also been changed to Saturdays at 8pm.

The guy pictured with the acoustic guitar playing with Art is a real a-hole, all the way around. He ripped the flyers off the windows, and advertised it for Saturday night. This was because he didn't want other people interfering with his playing. He's not very good, and he's pretty condescending without any actual real world knowledge or experience to back it up. Its alright though because he sings like a dying cat.:p

I don't know why he still works there, but at least he doesn't play there.:hyper:

In all seriousness, I actually started reading this thread today. It is a very awesome deal. I wish I had more time on my hands, I'd make the trip to the restaurant. I'm close enough, but betweenwork & school, I got 0 time. I don't even go see my own brother play his gigs (gigs that I can't even play at, which forced him to find other bass players...:rollno::rollno::rollno: )

Again, Kudos to you GE, and I'm very happy to see a player back in the groove of things.

I found out when I was about 44 years old that my parents bought me from a crooked doctor. Unexpected & weird S*%T happens in life. It took me 11years of searching & investigation to find out who my real parents were. Every piece of paper involved was falsified. I know it's easy & popular to be cynical, but strange things DO happen. I found my full-blood brother at the age of 56. We never knew about each other & there are 3 more of us......somewhere.

So I bought the Daily News today, and it wasn't in the paper. :hiding: I shot a text to the guy who reported it, and he said his editor put it off; that its ready and they're waiting to release it. I'll let everyone know as I do; it was originally slated for today, and now its been pushed until tomorrow.

GE, I just found this thread, and while I have not had time to read every post (gonna do that tonight), I want to join everyone else here in congratulating you and thanking you for doing some good in this world. You are truly an inspiration, whether you want to be or not.

Now, how I got to this thread (which I hadn't clicked before today): A friend of mine in suburban San Diego county is a terrific but financially challenged acoustic guitarist. He was attempting to find the value of a guitar he's looking to sell on a site called frugalguitarist.com, and ran across an article about this thread there. After reading the thread he sent me an email and asked, "Have you ever heard of a site called talkbass.com?"

So, dude... you're bad, you're nationwide! Don't be surprised when the call from Oprah comes through! :hyper:

GE - you have proven that the difference between "Homo Sapiens", ie "survival", and "Human Race", ie "compassion for another", is what separates us from the animal kingdom. Cumulative small acts of kindness have far more power than we think.

GE's small act of kindness has given us all a lesson in treating people with respect and compassion, and kindness to each other is what makes our societies work. Without it, we are nothing but small groups warring against one another. Sad to say, but our world desperately needs more acts like GE's to heal the rifts that permeate our planet, and divides societies, cultures, and nations.

To Butch and Andrew - I wish you all the best in the future, and truly hope this second chance to re-unite with your loved ones becomes a firm, loving, and lasting bond. Blessed be to you all!

Do you know if that story is hitting ALL editions of the Daily News? I get it here in CT but our edition can be quite different from the city edition. I know we're in for a boatload of bad weather but I have a convenience store thats close enough that I can walk there and I know they carry the paper.

That I don't know. The guy who wrote it is currently in Miami, and he said he looked it up online and it didn't come out, so he asked his editor. I'll be buying the Newspaper in the morning and I'll be able to give TB an update around 1pm or so as to whether or not its in the paper.
