Found a cool old bassist, need some help?

I spent many years interviewing and working with individuals and families as a medical/hospice/psychiatric social worker, and one thing I learned is when it comes to family matters it's wise to tread quietly, discreetly, and gently when it comes to family matters. Not all reunions are joyous. This thread has been quite a ride, and many folks are seeing their fondest wishes and fantasies fulfilled. However, families can be complicated. I do wish Art/Butch and his family all the best. I also hope we can allow him whatever privacy he wishes, and even err on the side of caution when wanting to share and especially publicize this story. The media are ruthless- remember that. Stories like this are dollars to lots of folks, and they can be terribly intrusive.

Being a celebrity means losing your privacy. Very few people would welcome that.

Just some thoughts. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... :)

Offhand, GE, I'd refer to you as the Porter Family Hero.

These people owe you a lot; being the catalyst to reunite Butch/Arthur with his brother and daughter.

Wise words. There is a reason why people do what they do, and what they don't do. Sometimes what is easy for one person to handle is very hard for another. One step at a time and that time to be determined by Butch/Art.

i like the story.
id be willing to help.

you know, i dont know what its like there but my local news team has hometown hero segment. stories much like yours have been shown and the station helps out with donations and fundraisers.

just an idea, im sure something like could happen to get him back in a groove.
