Found a cool old bassist, need some help?

Well hang in there. Like others have said, do not sell the gear.

I already sold a few pieces, but nothing I'm going to miss. I've got an overabundance of gear I don't play. (I really only play 3 of my basses regularly, and they're all P-basses)

My family and I had the chance to meet up with Andrew in New York late yesterday afternoon for a little while.

What a great, polite, pleasant guy! Although we invited him to join us for a quick dinner, he said he couldnt stay long because he had a rehearsal and a gig to get to but I was able to at least buy him a soda! (dont forget he's only 20). He sat with us and chatted for a while and then he had to leave and catch yet another train.

Andrew, I wish you all the success you can handle-you're a real stand-up guy!

In today's NY Daily news a pic of Arthur(Butch)Porter and his daughter reuniting after not seeing her for 8 years, and GE is also in the pic. I met GE at this years GTG, what a great young man he is for making all this happen, I too am proud to be a fellow Bassist. In the story this time around they mention TalkBass. GE you have done a great service to this Bass community and to the Porters as well. May God bless you always.

Huh.. Just found this. Cool stuff, good to know it occurs and my screaming inner cynic was effectively silenced.

As far as your (ex)boss goes G.E.; sounds to me like she wants to be known as a do-gooder herself. Problem is, she's not selfless by any stretch of the imagination, as evidenced by her dumping you, meanwhile giving Art tons of hours, albeit with lesser pay... geez. Things will look up for you financially once you get through school. I've been in grad school for the last year and I've never struggled to put gas in my car until now. So I feel ya man.
