I just read an interview with Blag Dahlia from the Dwarves and he was talking about the differences between the shows they play today and the shows from the late 80s/early 90s. He said 20-25 years ago, people would go to a show and get into the music. Today, everyone stands around taking photos with their phones like they are at the zoo.

This summer my family spent 12 awesome days touring the southwest. Took plenty of great pics but the memories of chance encounters, people we met -- the serendipity of travel -- are and will remain far more vivid.

Again, IMO here, but as annoying as the cell phone craze can be, it's getting to where listening to people cry about it is almost as annoying. Yes, times are changing. It happens. Unless someone bumps me, their use of technology doesn't effect my life. Again, JMO

With all respect, while I may not agree with how others live, I tolerate behavior that doesn't harm others.

Put another way, I got my own fish to fry. My remark was reflective of how I choose to live—a first-person pronoun would have helped. Apologies if I came off as judgmental.

Yes, sometimes its kids, sometimes it's old people with too much time to kill.

I say good for you Frampton.
Like him, I am sick of people running around with their little phone cameras acting like they are Annie Libovitz or Ansel Adams!
I was at MOMA in NYC last month seeing the art of Jackson Pollack. There were all these completely obnoxious little dweebs pushing their way around taking pictures of this amazing art with their piece-of-**** smart phones.
Not only would they probably never look at these pictures but I felt like they weren't even getting the point of viewing live art.
Not to mention the fact that they could simply go on the internet and see images that are probably 1000% better than what their frickin' stupid little phones could take.
I am sorry but this crap really pisses me off.

I really dislike the art photographers! All of that art has been professionally photographed and those images are available online with minimal searching required. Taking a pic of every piece in a gallery with your crappy cell phone and you pumped-up photojournalist BS attitude is super annoying. I make a point of photo bombing those idiots every chance I get.

I think technology has maybe changed faster than we can keep up with the last couple of years. We're in some kind of social trial and error phase it seems, give it some time and hopefully we'll have sorted out some acceptable rules and behaviour.

Once people all have google glass they'll be taping everything anyway, just by wearing those silly cylon glasses. At least then you won't have them all holding phones in front of you so you can stop whining about that and go back to complaining about ticket prices.
