free jam tracks for us bass players

Thanks for the iPod comment whitedk57 - that made my day. haha.

The voodoo vamp I'd call 'blues'.

It's just vamping on the Eb7 chord used in voodoo chile blues by Jimi Hendrix (and Stevie Ray Vaughan - killer version).

Both those guys are usually put in the rock section of music stores I think cause they are popular artists. But it's blues for my money.

And the bass playing I did on that track on the guitar page I pretty much stole lines from Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughan's bass player). I love Tommy's playing and he seems like the most down to earth man on the planet - real humble. I love the guy.

Funny you ask for something in F - I did one last night. But not Billie's Bounce. Sounds like a good idea to me though - I'll do one over the weekend for you.

Most of the tracks - I start out with a song in my head. Play the basic feel of it or the bass line for it, then when I go to add the guitar over it the chords I put over it and the feel will be different to the song I was basing the track on.

Which is good cause it makes the tracks a little unique. Instead of just lifting something off someone else.

I have a Parker omnibook that I'm trying to learn, and your jam tracks are a great help. Great! I'll check billie's bounce this weekend, thanks!

I think its great what you've done mate! Especially since I"m only able to get together with my friends about once a week to really apply stuff, this helps out newbies like me greatly! And the spirit in which you did them, music for the sake of music really speaks to your character in a great way! Can we get some funk next? or some jazz or jazzy stuff? These are great!

Yep, I am just making them for the public to use for free.

Whenever I have tried to find jam tracks for myself on the net I have found it really hard to find content. It's basic stuff, I can do them myself so may as well make them available for everyone I figure.

I did a jazzy one today that I'll put up soon Ammioz77.

And yeah, I'm with you on the funk - I need it for myself more than anything - so I'll need to get onto that soon.

Yep - definately a different way of life in the country. (I grew up in country NSW).

The music scene in Melbourne is pretty healthy as long as you don't want to earn a living from it! Lot's of places to play and a lot of great musicians around the place.

That's why I switched to bass - everyone I knew was a guitar player - went to bass and now I get to play with a lot more people/bands etc.

All good.

a bit of sabbath - good call.

I will add it to the list of things to do.

I've got a long list but I will definately do some sabbath and some ozzy for a bit of rock stuff.
