free jam tracks for us bass players

Thanks man, these tracks are great! As a beginner teaching myself, I rarely have a chance to play with others (i don't have any friends who play anything around here- except guitarhero.to be honest I've never played GH- I prefer real instruments) these are great for teaching myself how to interact with other instruments and for me to see what sounds good and what doesn't!

Hi WyrdoBass - that is really cool. Yeah, it's good to muck around with jam tracks when you can't play with a band. Makes it a bit more fun than playing solo or just with a metronome.

haha Honk'n_down-low, I guess that is true. It's really cool that we can all chat and stuff on a forum like this with people all over the world and same goes for sharing the jam tracks.

Stumbo - that's a very good idea, thanks, I've updated the tracks so you can see my reference numbers. It all started with just tracks for lead instruments - so those ones were 01, 02 etc etc - then when I started dropping out the bass from the tracks the numbers run like '19 blah blah' and then '20 blah blah No Bass'.

It's funny when you do something that gets a bit bigger than you first intended. In a month or so I will re-design the pages so I have something like the main pages with the updates on there and then an archive page or something.

I had 400mb space with the web host I'm with but I've hit that limit and was about to reach the download limit so I've upgraded it and now I can have 2.5Gb of stuff on there!!!

I think that's about 10 hours worth.



Also in about a month or so I am going to convert all the files to mp3's so they are available in both formats.

Hi All - well I've done nothing this weekend except record, record and record.

I've just put up 7 new tracks. Trying to meet some of the requests I've tried to cover some, Country, Blues, Funk, Reggae and a special Swing Jazz one in F expecially for cofibreyk.

So play hard, play late and enjoy.

Lemme add one more big THANK YOU. I just downloaded an assortment of tracks and burned them to a CD for use in my practice space. I usually just play along to a drum machine, improvising and experimenting over a randomly selected pattern, but this will be way more fun and, I think, help me to work on a wider variety of skills. Looking forward to getting to work with them tonight!

Thanks Lee - yeah, it can get a bit boring just doing the drum machine thing. When I first started playing after a few months I stopped practicing and would only play when I rehearsed or jammed with people. Having some jam tracks to play along with makes it more fun/easier to want to play on my own.

Cool - bassflame - I hope you check out the streamliners a lot. One of my all time favourite bands - I go to Adelaide just to see them at least once a year. Killer band, dennis is a monster bass player. Love the upright thrown into the mix too. Awesome. The Wheatsheaf is a great venue.
