Fret Nation

+1.
I reiterate, Fret Nation was awesome to me.

And so will I. I’ve always had excellent service from Jason. And I’ve been buying strings from him way back in his BSO days.

The only time I experienced a delay is on a set that he was waiting for the manufacturer to fill his order, and he let me know there was a delay up front.

But even then, we’re talking about a set of strings. If I was in a pinch, and I needed new strings “Now”, I could simply buy a set locally.

And another thing: Personally, I buy three or four of my favorite sets at a time. And when I get down to one or two sets, I place a new order. Especially for my 6-string bass sets. Finding 6-string sets that I like locally is kind of tough.

It wouldn’t bother me if they went away again.

Hello mdogs,

I would love the opportunity to discuss this matter with you in private or publicly.

I am unable to find any order information based on "mdogs" so I can not look up any information regarding your past purchases with FretNation. Please I invite you to reach out to me directly.

Hello mdogs,

By your comments about my company you obviously are not. Without any knowledge of who you are or if you have ever even purchased from FretNation I would appreciate if you refrain from slandering my company going forward.

Thank you,

Lara

I think throwing the "slandering" comment out there is really pushing things too far. I had multiple problems with your company and I will feel free to comment as I wish. But, I can assure you that accusing me of slander is no way to accomplish anything.

Hello mdogs,

Yes that may be pushing it a little too far. Isn't wishing a company would fail that people have invested their time, money, and lives into going a bit too far too?

I would still appreciate the opportunity to at least know who you are so I can look into what your dissatisfactions may be.

Thank you.

If stating my point of view is starting something, say goodbye to Talkbass. BTW, this was over days ago.
Personally I have no problem with what you've said. It was your experience. But, I find TalkBass to be a censored forum, so there's that. I respect what they're trying to do. It seems to work, keeping us all on a leash.

Ok, so back on track, One of my experiences with Fret Nation came to fruition yesterday:

I have a set of Dunlop flats, and I cut the G string too short. They're now $50 a set, so this is no small thing. Fret Nation is strong on getting single strings and single sets, so I contacted them about getting a replacement. Jason looked in his stash for a replacement, couldn't find one, so he contacted Dunlop and facilitated getting a replacement from them for me. I got it yesterday. The whole deal was complimentary.

Tell me a better story than that.

I'm torn.
I have had nothing but great service & communication from Jason and Fret Nation. I would use them again in a second. But I also feel loyal to this site and have bought strings here too.
Now, if Jason sold strings to TB for resale, that would be a win/win.
I'm thinking that TB is a bigger business than FN, so maybe we should support FN more???
Thoughts?
Please don't turn this into an argument. I'm just trying to help the guy more in need!

Being in Canada, this is a no brainer for me. I once inquired about the shipping cost of purchasing anything from the TB Store. They told me $20 USD for shipping on a set of strings!

I like dealing with Jason because he's always willing to be flexible with his pricing to offset the cost of international shipping.
