MIM fretlesses are great basses for the price. I think the quality of their fretless necks is better than the fretwork they put on the fretteds.

I love my CIJ 62 reissue. The guys at guitar japan are awesome. They take PayPal. I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived at my door in California the following Tuesday (yes, 4 days from Japan).

I did swap out the knobs on the 3TS and replaced them with chrome P-Bass knobs. Jaco goodness (almost - no epoxied fingerboard) at half the price.

right now i have a carvin fretless but i just never liked the feel of it, im trying to get rid of it and want a new one. Think im gonna go with a stingray or if for some reason i win the lottery get a manny salvador custom. Does anyone own one of his basses?
Dean Edge Fretless ... I upgraded the pickups and amp, which helped greatly. Strings make a big difference on fretless. I like the TI Jazz flats.
What do you guys know about Lakland basses? I dont know anything about them but I know they make an active preamp bass with a jazz and humbucker pickup combo.....who else makes a fretless active bass with j/h combo?
i've been thinking about trading my modulus Q5 fretted for a fretless Q5...i'd imagine that the fretless modulus would be somewhat like the zon, but does anyone have any direct feedback on a freless modulus? will the tone be too hi-fi for a fretless?

ive never played a mm fretless 4...but one of my favorite fretless bass players....or bass players in general plays a mm 4fretless.

Didn't notice if there was a price range here, but Zon fretless' are killer. If you're patient you can probably find a nice used one eventually for a good price.
i dont like carvin freltess basses, never got into the feel of the one i constantly borrowed before i got my own. bleh.
